Job Description

This is a hands-on senior engineering role at the heart of how Voyado Elevate understands products. As a subsystem team inspired by Team Topologies, you, Andreas and Maxim own our Classifier - the service that enriches every product feed with LLMs and maps it into our Knowledge Graph, powering search, recommendations, and navigation. You sit at the intersection of our search, recommendation, and ontology teams, and the team owns the technical roadmap.

Right now that means scaling our LLM-based classification pipeline further into production while keeping a sharp eye on cost as data volumes grow. Customers are increasingly getting access to the classification data behind their search and recommendation results, so quality and explainability matter as much as speed. Next up: extending enrichment from text into images, one of our biggest technical bets in the roadmap.

Day to day is a mix of two things: hands-on Java and LLM work to keep a demanding, cost-sensitive production system healthy, and architecture and roadmap discussions that shape where it goes next. We push to work agentically wherever it makes sense - using AI tools to move faster, not just to tick a box.

Some of the things you'd be up to:

• Development, writing code in Java! ☕️

• Centralize deep technical expertise within machine learning, knowledge graph structures, NLP, and LLM models

• Prompt Engineering

• Taking part in setting our technical roadmap

• Contribute to design discussions and architectural decisions, and make sure the service is built using best practices

• Create semantically enriched product classification, leveraging AI for automation, and deliver actionable product knowledge to stakeholders

• Drive innovation and continuous improvement through prototyping and evaluating new technologies

And when the time comes when you need a break, why don't you spend some time in the gym, tinker in our puzzle corner or challenge our Åre office in Call of Duty on our PlayStation 5? 🎮

So, who are you?

You're a senior developer who's more energized by solving hard problems at scale than by following a spec to the letter. You think about how a system performs and what it costs, not just whether it works in a demo, and you're comfortable owning a production service end to end: the trade-offs between precision and recall, speed and cost, automation and control. You can hold your own in architecture discussions with search, recommendation, and ontology stakeholders, and you're just as happy writing the code yourself as designing it.

Besides those personal skills, we believe you have the following:

• A Master's degree in Computer Science, or a comparable industry career

• Experience working in cloud environments

• Experience with machine learning, knowledge graph structures, NLP, and LLM models

• And most importantly, passion for what you do

If you are interested in algorithmic problem-solving, that's meritorious.
