Where the team fits in

This role is based within the Mortgage Solutions team in the Financial Services business, supporting the Mortgage Choice and PropTrack brands. Mortgage Solutions provides lenders and mortgage brokers with tools that enhance efficiency in property valuation and risk assessment across the full mortgage lifecycle.

What the role is all about

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining our products in a collaborative team environment. You will work with a range of programming languages, databases and cloud technologies to deliver high-quality solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, code, test and deploy data products using a variety of technologies and platforms
  • Maintain and enhance existing products, including bug fixes and BAU feature improvements
  • Ensure the reliability, availability and security of our systems and data
  • Play a key role in developing new services and modernising our existing technical infrastructure

Who we’re looking for

  • End-to-end ownership of the software product lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, release, and production support
  • Hands-on experience with AWS (Lambdas, RDS, Dynamo, S3, EC2)
  • Hands-on database development experience, including strong T-SQL and stored procedure skills
  • Proven experience in database design, data pipelines, and analytics platforms
  • Practical experience in performance tuning and optimization, applying secure coding practices, and designing for scalability, reliability, and resilience
  • Experience building ETL systems using technologies such as Airflow or SSIS
  • Experience building solutions with Node.js, TypeScript, and serverless environments
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and authentication schemes
  • Ability to deep-dive into data and APIs to diagnose issues and uncover insights
  • Understanding of BigQuery and data warehouse concepts
  • Experience working with build pipelines, Docker, and modern continuous integration and delivery practices
  • A genuine passion for data and for keeping up to date with modern data technologies
