Accountabilities:

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical solutions while supporting engineering standards and development processes. Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, building, testing, debugging, and maintaining software solutions in alignment with established engineering standards.
• Applying advanced object-oriented programming concepts, architectural patterns, and design principles to create scalable applications.
• Estimating development efforts, managing assigned tasks, and delivering work according to defined schedules.
• Identifying technical and process improvements to enhance system quality, efficiency, and reliability.
• Taking ownership of complex project components, including contributions to new initiatives and high-complexity development tasks.
• Resolving advanced development challenges and supporting the enforcement of development timelines and priorities.
• Helping guide task prioritization for junior team members and contributing technical expertise across the team.
• Supporting quality management practices and ensuring compliance with relevant engineering and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong software development experience, technical depth, and the ability to work effectively in an independent and distributed environment. Required qualifications and skills include:

• 8–9 years of professional experience developing commercial software products.
• Strong proficiency in multiple technologies such as RPG & CL, DB2 SQL, SQL procedures, user-defined functions, and object-oriented programming principles.
• Solid understanding of SOLID principles, software architecture, design patterns, and core engineering concepts.
• Experience with different testing approaches, including unit, system, integration, and performance testing.
• Knowledge of cross-platform development practices is an advantage.
• Experience working with Agile software development methodologies in geographically distributed teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate critical thinking, and effectively solve complex technical problems.
