The Reliability Engineer is a DevSecOps role that is responsible for ensuring applications deployed in Azure Cloud and on-premise in U.S. Bank data centers are running optimally, securely and reliably. This includes creating and maintaining monitoring dashboards and metrics to provide evidence that these applications are tuned appropriately for reliability, availability and performance. The Reliability Engineer will be the first responder for any Incidents, and will conduct root cause analysis and "triage" in order to ensure any unhealthy application is returned to operation as soon as possible. In alignment with management of Incidents, the Reliability Engineer will ensure Knowledge Base (KB) articles are authored and maintained and periodically revised to facilitate accurate escalations from IT Service Center (Help Desk) personal when escalations are initiated through that channel. Given training to be provided by our on-shore engineers, the Reliability Engineer will be expected to accept/acknowledge Incidents for our applications in ServiceNow, then "triage" the Incidents and resolve failure scenarios within the skill and authorization of this incumbent, and to otherwise escalate other Incidents to onshore engineers within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The role will also conduct and validate monthly Azure VM "Cattle" VM redeployments to ensure the systems always have the latest security patches from Microsoft, and similar system engineering tasks typically conducted outside of on-shore business hours. Finally, the reliability engineer will organize, schedule and conduct disaster recovery exercises and other activities typically assigned to Technical Owner", in cooperation with our business line partners.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Reliability Engineer (monitoring focus on availability and functionality, on-call incident triage, risk tasks like SCP, DR, monthly VM redeployments, vulnerability remediation).

Competencies:

Azure Fundamentals, Application monitoring, anomaly detection, horizontal and vertical scaling, logging, error detection, vulnerability remediation, Git, Ansible, Azure VM management.

Skills:

Azure 900 Fundamentals or higher certification, Datadog, ServiceNow ITIL, Windows Server, MS SQL Server Admin, Jira, Jmeter, Github Copilot, system troubleshooting techniques, determine whether server and applications or databases are up, reachable, and in healthy operating status, and able to resolve typical failure modes. Target State Achitecture, understanding of network topologies and application architectures..

Skill Proficiency: Specialist

Experience: 5 - 8 Yrs

Location: Chennai.

Shift: 11AM - 8 PM.
