Senior Software Engineer

The Role

The FFIO Pricing and Billing Technology team is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to accelerate support for alternative investments within the billing platform initiatives and to develop new and enhance existing capabilities. The position is based in Westlake, Texas and will provide technical leadership with strong focus on engineering excellence. We're looking for highly motivated individuals who work well in a collaborative, iterative, and fast-paced environment focusing on business outcomes.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in full stack application development with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Apache Camel, JMS, Apache Kafka, relational databases (Oracle), SQL and PL/SQL and deploying application in Kubernetes environments.
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, TypeScript, Node, NPM, Rx JS), building and deploying containerized applications in cloud environments (AWS EKS)
  • A solid and strong foundation in software engineering and design patterns with focus on engineering excellence. Experience in reverse engineering and understanding existing applications.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at a given time, self-directed, results oriented
  • Ability to quickly learn and adopt diverse technologies, think strategically: Strong problem-solving skills. ​Hands on work style: Dynamic can-do attitude, proactive and curious in nature.

The Value You Deliver

  • Work with product leaders on requirements, decompose epics into stories, and deliver solutions that meet or exceed business partner expectations.
  • Align technology initiatives with business objectives and deliver scalable, future-ready solutions. The individual is expected to be hands on active contributor 70% of the time on programming/software development.
  • Champion adopting AI-driven development tools (e.g., code assistants) by development teams to accelerate delivery.

Expertise below will be a Plus

  • Experience modernizing legacy system and building digital workflows
  • Experience in building/modernizing applications in Financial services or Asset Management industry (Alternative Investments).

The Team

Fidelity Fund Investment Operations (FFIO) provides accounting and investment management support services for Fidelity mutual funds and other retail and institutional investment products. These services include calculating and distributing NAVs, distribution rates and yields for a wide variety of investment products; preparing fund financial statements, dividend estimates and tax returns; monitoring delivery of fund trades to custodian banks; processing corporate actions; collecting securities income on behalf of the funds; reconciling, reporting, and moving money in support of fund shareholder transactions; and managing fund liquidity

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles.
