Job Description

Work Location - Sydney ONLY

Join our Consumer Segment Technology team as a Senior Software Engineer to drive the transformation of our core consumer platforms. You will play a pivotal role in migrating critical legacy systems from on prem to a new GCP-based global platform, directly enhancing our data-driven decision-making and AI/ML capabilities. In this role, you will balance deep technical execution with a commitment to uplifting our internal engineering capabilities through active coaching and peer support.

What you’ll do

  • Execute high-quality software engineering with a focus on migrating legacy systems from Prem to GCP.

  • Maintain a heavy hands-on focus coding primarily in .NET and MS SQL Server.

  • Integrate and enhance AI/ML capabilities within the platform to drive smarter data-driven decision-making.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members to uplift engineering standards.

  • Conduct rigorous code reviews and deliver robust technical designs and architectural documentation.

  • Drive process improvement and automation within the engineering practice to ensure best-in-class delivery.

  • Ensure all development meets Equifax secure software development guidelines and DevSec/FinOps KPIs.

  • Collaborate with onshore and offshore squads to ensure seamless platform integration.

  • Direct architectural decision-making regarding product refactoring and end-of-life (EOSL) transitions.

  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives.

  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear presentations for various stakeholders.

  • Provide reliable production support by participating in an on-call rotation (typically once per month).

What experience you need

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience in an enterprise environment with mastery of .NET, microservices, and the SQL stack (T-SQL, stored procedures).

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure), specifically building cloud-native solutions.

  • Proven experience in a technical leadership or mentoring capacity for junior or mid-level engineers

  • Demonstrated experience working within an Agile development lifecycle.

  • Proven ability to perform deep-level troubleshooting and debugging within complex .NET and SQL codebases.

  • Experience implementing or maintaining AI/ML models or data science pipelines within a production environment.

  • Valid and unrestricted working rights in Australia.

What could set you apart

  • Direct experience executing complex migrations between different cloud providers (e.g., AWS ,GCP).

  • Knowledge of GenAI frameworks or specialized AI services within GCP (such as Vertex AI)

  • Proficiency with Angular or other modern frontend frameworks to support full-stack initiatives.

  • A proven track record of solving complex problems in highly ambiguous, large-scale enterprise environments.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence both technical peers and non-technical business partners.
