Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Department: Engineering
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Location: Bangalore, India

At Crisis24, the Senior Software Engineer is responsible for contributing to the current Crisis24 Platform and the next generation platform by Crisis24. In this role, you will work closely with a team of engineers and QA to design, develop scalable Web Applications, provide technical guidance, and ensure best practices in coding, design, quality and performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, develop, and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable applications using .NET Core.
• Develop containerized microservices hosted on AWS, utilizing distributed NoSQL data stores along with PostgreSQL and MS SQL.
• Collaborate with a team of engineers to build cross-cutting services, data stores, and APIs.
• Lead by example through hands-on coding, architecture decisions, and troubleshooting.
• Own end-to-end system design, driving technical decisions and ensuring solutions align with business goals.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and QA teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, promoting DevOps best practices across the team.
• Champion secure coding practices and ensure adherence to security standards across the codebase.
• Understand and communicate requirements effectively, and work closely with Support teams to address customer issues.
• Troubleshoot and analyze complex software issues to identify root causes and provide effective solutions.
• Optimize application performance through profiling, benchmarking, and architectural improvements.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response, ensuring system reliability and fast recovery.
• Stay current with new features, platform updates, and industry trends to continuously improve the Crisis24 platform.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience developing applications using .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, and REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with queuing mechanisms such as Kafka and AWS SQS.
• Solid experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MS SQL, or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of coding standards, design patterns, and unit testing practices.
• Proven experience building REST APIs in containerized, distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and containerization using Docker.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture principles including microservices, SOLID, and DDD.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security principles.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
