We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a team building and operating a modern payments infrastructure that processes high volume, real time transactions. You’ll design, develop and maintain services using Java and TypeScript on AWS, working on secure integrations with banks and payment providers while improving reliability, scalability and performance across a production environment.
This is an English speaking role based in Stockholm with flexible remote working, competitive salaries and stock options. Candidates must already live in Stockholm and have permanent working rights in Sweden.
Must Haves:
8+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong experience with Java and TypeScript
Hands on experience working with AWS in production
Background in Fintech, Banking or payments heavy systems
Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability and system design
Experience working in secure or compliance focused environments
Currently living in Stockholm with permanent working rights in Sweden
Fluent in English
Nice to Haves:
Exposure to event driven architectures (Kafka, Kinesis etc.)
Experience with containerised environments and CI, CD practices
Familiarity with backend TypeScript frameworks (Node, Nest.js, etc.)
Experience with PCI DSS or other regulatory frameworks
Understanding of real time transaction monitoring or fraud prevention tools
