Our Networking Software Engineering Team builds and maintains the tools, hardware, and software needed to manage and implement Akamai's physical network. Working collaboratively and encompassing the full engineering cycle, we're constantly innovating to deliver for our customers. This dynamic role involves working with networking engineering teams to maintain functionality, performance, and stability of physical network features. Your attention to detail and testing methods throughout the product lifecycle ensure high-performing, innovative security products and a reliable networking infrastructure.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for:

• Taking ownership for testing your products, creating test strategies and delivering high-quality software solutions
• Using software development skills to develop tools, test frameworks and automation of the testing process
• Collaborating with software engineering teams in an Agile environment on code review, design process and product development
• Influencing and shaping the design process and product development

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• Have experience in web testing using frameworks such as Selenium
• Have experience of working with Linux/Unix-like operating systems
• Have experience with containerized applications using Docker or Kubernetes
• Understand internet functionality, including networks, protocols, IP networks, DNS, routing, and communication protocols like HTTP, TCP, or SSL/TLS.
• Have experience configuring and testing Juniper or Cisco routers and switches, with knowledge of internet routing protocols, particularly BGP.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for exploring tools and technologies, identifying issues, collaborating effectively, solving problems, and working independently with others.
