Our SSE QA team is responsible for extensive testing across multiple cutting-edge technologies and systems developed at Akamai. Our priority is our customers, and our goal is keeping their business and data secured from threats.

Develop and contribute to full product life cycle

As a Senior SDET, you will be working to support high quality practices, plan and build functional, integration, system and acceptance tests, both manual and automated. You'll be a key part of the team responsible for building a world class SSE solution.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for:

• Performing the full QA cycle for software releases : Gathering specs, developing test plans for functional, integrations and E2E validations.
• Automating the tests using PyTest, and integrate them into our CI/CD pipelines.
• Creating and applying new approaches and concepts, including AI, to improve the productivity and efficiency of testing practices
• Designing testing tools, which include developing scripts to enhance regression testing.
• Collaborating with R&D and Product teams to establish effective quality strategies for upcoming features.
• Designing and implementing scalable test automation frameworks to ensure robust software quality across multiple platforms and environments.

What you'll build

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5+ years' QA testing experience and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or it's equivalent
• Have an advanced knowledge of scripting languages including Python, shell script, SQL, and REST API
• Have knowledge of Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, ArgoWF, ArgoCD, Clickhouse, S3, Kafka, Terraform, Kibana, and Grafana
• Have experience working with Cloud Platforms e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure & testing of Big Data Backend Distributed systems
• Have experience working with AI tools such as Claude-code, Co-Pilot
• Have a good understanding on networking protocols and technologies (especially HTTP, HTTPS, DNS)
