The Role
As a Senior Software Developer, you will build the software that powers GM’s virtual development environments, SIL workflows, andAI‑enhancedsimulation capabilities. You bring strengths in automation, embedded systems, andproblem‑solving— and this role expands your exposure to cloud, data, ML fundamentals, andlarge‑scalesimulation architecture.
WhatYou’llDo (Responsibilities)
Develop backend servicessupporting virtual ECUs, simulationorchestration, and model execution.
Build tools for SIL workflowsincluding scenario execution, data capture, and automation.
Integrate AI/ML componentsinto simulation or validationpipelines.
Design APIsfor simulation control, artifact management, and orchestration.
Optimizeperformancefor compute‑intensiveworkloads.
Collaborate with DevOps and simulation teamsto ensure seamless integration.
Contribute to CI/CD workflowsfor simulation and AI components.
Your Skills & Abilities (Qualifications)
Bachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
7+ years of relevant experiencein software development, simulation, or embedded systems.
Strong programming skillsin Python, C++, C#, or Java.
Experience with simulation or virtualization( vECUs, FMUs, SIL).
Understanding ofcloud servicesand distributed systems.
Experience with CLI-based architecturefor tools design.
Knowledge ofMCP-based architecture for AI tools design.
Experience with databasesfor simulationmetadata and results.
Optional AI Skills:
ML lifecycle basics
Vector search or embeddings
Model integration
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience with microservicesfor simulationorchestration.
Knowledge of Kubernetesfor running computeworkloads.
Performance tuningexpertisefor simulation or AI pipelines.
Experience with automotive dataand domain modeling.
Experiencewithontology-basedengineeringprocessesand architectureframeworks
Advanced knowledge of ontology technologies and ontology design patterns (Owl, RDF, SPARQL, Automated reasoning)
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $115,000 to $164,600. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
