Job Description

Join a team of cybersecurity professionals and help Swiss Re to fulfil its mission in making the world more resilient. As the Software Developer, you'll own the technical design and implementation of custom components, setup, and configuration of off-the-shelf components and contribute to making the solution end-to-end successful as part of a dedicated team. What's more, you'll be working in a hybrid setup, perfectly balancing work from home and the office premises.

About the team

The Security Team is the focal point for all security activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for cybersecurity engineering and operations, corporate security, governance, operational resilience, risk and compliance. We define and advance the company's security strategy.

As a part of the Security Team, the main aim of the Cyber Defence Solutions team is to develop, improve, and maintain innovative platforms such as Threat Intelligence, SOAR and its automations and playbooks. We're looking for a highly experienced software developer with interest in cyber defence with a strong background in engineering and leadership skills.

In your role, you will…

  • Be someone who believes in continuous innovation, is curious and relentless in finding a better way every day
  • Design and build new cybersecurity orchestration automation via API integrations
  • Maintain and improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of the existing automations within the cybersecurity orchestration platform
  • Lead software projects while remaining hands-on in design and implementation
  • Conduct research to identify and implement new techniques and tools that can enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the cybersecurity orchestration automation platform
  • Collaborate with threat detection security engineers to develop and implement custom solutions for detecting and responding to emerging cyber threats

Your qualifications

What we need from you

  • Passion, drive, and a belief in the valueofcybersecurity automation as an enabler of business performance
  • Experience in python development in complex corporate environments
  • The ability to communicate with a broad spectrum of stakeholders effectively – from cybersecurity analysts to application owners
  • A track record of successful delivery in API integrations developed with Python
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience driving software delivery and mentoring developers through day-to-day collaboration
  • A high level of integrity, result-oriented approach, and composure under pressure
  • Strong communication, influencing, and collaboration skills

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with cloud native technologies and environments
  • Experience engineering AI-driven systems
  • Experience working with SOAR capabilities development
  • Knowledge of detection rule development, covering tools (such as SIEM, EDRs) and industry frameworks (such as MITRE ATT&CK®)
  • Experience working as a security analyst or incident responder (in a SOC/CSIRT/on-call setup)

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week

For Spain, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 60,000 and EUR 100,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
  • the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.

In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.

Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract.
