We are looking for a creative and tech-savvy Senior Software Developer (m/f/x) to join our dedicated team and help develop best-in-class digital hunting and nature observation devices. ZEISS Hunting & Nature is currently undergoing an exciting transformation process: in order to position ourselves more dynamically, customer-oriented and future-oriented, we are transferring the company from the ZEISS Group into an independent unit with an investor. The new unit exclusively develops and distributes the innovative optical products for hunters, birders and outdoor enthusiasts of the ZEISS brand.
For you as a Senior Software Developer (m/f/x), this means the opportunity to actively shape our product portfolio in flat hierarchies and to develop innovative digital solutions for our customers.
Define and maintain a scalable, secure and future-proof software platform architecture for portable nature observation and hunting devices
Develop software in C/C++ for real-time embedded Linux systems
Supervise work of internal and external partners
Ensure that software is secure and complies with cyber-security regulations
Solve technical cross-functional issues with internal and external developers to integrate and deliver quality software
Work according to the agile process in an agile team using modern software developing methods like CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and test-driven development
Design and implement the best overall solution given the hardware and project limitations, and taking future technology roadmap into account
Refine technical requirements provided by product management and systems engineering
Improve the development process by regular feedback
A degree in computer science, electronics, or related field
Extensive experience in software development with open-source embedded Linux (Yocto or similar)
In-depth knowledge in C/C++ programming and writing well-structured code
Proven experience with software architecture design
Hands-on experience with cyber security topics such as CRA, threat modelling, risk assessment, vulnerability scans…
Strong experience in working in an agile framework using CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps or similar
Independent and pro-active way of working
Strong communication, cooperation and teamwork skills make you a real team player
Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written. German is a plus
