Job Description

If you want to be a Maxonian and help bring the best 2D and 3D visual effects, motion graphics, gaming, AR/MR/VR, visualization and design software to the market, then we should have a chat.

WHO WE ARE:
Packed with brilliant, passionate people, Maxon is deeply rooted in the creative industry and committed to empowering the artistic community. We are Maxonians. We encourage and motivate each other to be curious learners. We are obsessed with customer fulfillment and inspiration – before, during and after purchase. If you too want to be a Maxonian and help bring to market the finest software products for 2D and 3D visual effects, motion graphics, games, AR/MR/VR, visualization and general design, let’s talk.

What You’ll DoWe are seeking an experienced Senior Developer to lead the creation of advanced plugins for CAD/BIM Software (e.g. Vectorworks, Revit, Archicad, Sketchup) that connect directly with Maxon Redshift, enabling bidirectional data exchange. The goal: allow architects to export complex BIM and scene data into Redshift for high-quality rendering and visualization, while syncing changes from Redshift — such as asset placement, material replacement, and lighting adjustments — back into the CAD model.
In this position you will:

  • Architect and develop existing and new plugins for Maxon Redshift to connect to CAD/BIM software for Architectural Visualization.
  • Implement real-time sync so design changes flow seamlessly in both directions between CAD and Redshift.
  • Handle translation of geometry, textures, material properties, vegetation/asset libraries, and lighting data.
  • Ensure exceptional performance for large-scale architectural projects.
  • Collaborate with UX, product management, and developers from other teams to deliver intuitive user workflows.
  • Mentor junior developers and maintain high coding standards.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Expert-level proficiency in C++ with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software.
  • Proven experience building plugins or integrations for CAD/BIM software or other 3D DCCs.
  • Experienced in C#, .NET or relevant languages for CAD plugin development.
  • Experience with rendering software – ideally Redshift, but also other relevant tools (e.g. Unreal Engine, Unity, V-Ray) – is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of BIM/3D geometry handling, material systems, and asset management.
  • Knowledge of CAD/architectural workflows.
  • Excellent debugging, optimization, and performance tuning skills.

WHAT WE OFFER

You will be part of a highly motivated international team of specialists working in an environment that offers a warm welcome with detailed onboarding and a dedicated mentor for a familiarization period as well as a wide range of individual development possibilities. Interested in joining our team? Click "Apply" to submit your application. Don’t meet every single requirement? At Maxon we embrace diversity, are avid explorers and curious learners, so if you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t entirely match every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply in any case. You may be just the right candidate for this or other positions.

We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
