Senior Software Developer
Position Type: Full-Time, Remote

About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Software Developer to build and maintain production-grade mobile and backend experiences. You’ll work primarily with React Native, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL, owning features from initial development through deployment and ongoing improvements.
This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership, works independently, and is comfortable solving complex technical problems across the application stack.
What You’ll Own
Mobile Development
- Build, maintain, and improve production React Native applications.
- Own features from scoping and development through deployment and post-launch iteration.
- Work across both iOS and Android applications.
Backend & Data
- Design and maintain PostgreSQL schemas.
- Write efficient queries and optimize database performance.
- Manage indexing, migrations, and data integrity.
- Build and maintain GraphQL APIs, including schemas and resolvers.
- Work with Apollo or similar GraphQL tooling.
Code Quality & Performance
- Participate actively in code reviews and maintain high standards for readability and test coverage.
- Debug issues across the full stack, from React Native performance to PostgreSQL queries.
- Identify technical issues proactively and drive them through to resolution.
Collaboration & Ownership
- Work closely with product, design, and engineering teammates to translate requirements into reliable solutions.
- Communicate progress, blockers, and technical decisions clearly in an async-first environment.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and help identify tradeoffs early.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, including substantial production experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with React Native.
- Experience publishing and maintaining applications on both iOS and Android.
- Strong PostgreSQL experience, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and migrations.
- Solid experience building and consuming GraphQL APIs.
- Experience with GraphQL schemas, resolvers, and tools such as Apollo or similar.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across the application stack.
- Ability to work independently on ambiguous technical problems.
- Strong written and spoken English for daily collaboration with a distributed team.

Typical Day
You’ll spend most of your time writing and reviewing code across the React Native frontend and GraphQL/PostgreSQL backend. You’ll work through tickets, contribute to technical and architectural discussions, collaborate asynchronously with product and engineering teammates, and help ship features to real users.
Because the team works across time zones, strong written communication is an important part of the role. Your updates, documentation, technical decisions, and code reviews will be an important part of how the team works together.
