Team Overview

The Application Development and Design Team within TransUnion's Global Technology organization is responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing business-critical consumer and enterprise applications that support TransUnion's global business and consumer solutions. The team enables efficient, scalable, and secure technology platforms while driving engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement across the organization.

This role is part of the Consumer Technology team and works closely with the Tech Lead, UK-based Software Architect, Test Lead, and cross-functional global technology teams to deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with the Consumer product roadmap. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, testing, and supporting scalable applications that power TransUnion's consumer products. You will contribute to the delivery of strategic technology initiatives while ensuring adherence to engineering best practices, coding standards, and architectural principles.

• Design, develop, and maintain complex applications and APIs using C#, ASP.NET Framework, and ASP.NET Core, supporting strategic Consumer product initiatives.
• Partner with global technology teams, architects, and product stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Deliver high-quality, testable, and production-ready code using Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices and automated testing frameworks.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimations, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups to drive timely delivery of business outcomes.
• Ensure adherence to TransUnion architecture standards, design patterns, security requirements, and development best practices.
• Develop and maintain automated testing, build, deployment, and release processes using CI/CD tools and version control systems.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions to improve system reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to ensure solutions meet functional, regulatory, and performance requirements prior to release.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance development processes, frameworks, and engineering practices.
• Mentor junior developers through technical guidance, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and best-practice adoption.

Required Knowledge And Experiences

• 5-8 years of professional software development experience, including designing, building, and supporting enterprise-scale applications in Agile environments. This experience is essential for independently delivering complex technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), and Test-Driven Development (TDD) to ensure structured and high-quality software delivery.
• Experience developing and maintaining complex, business-critical applications with a focus on scalability, performance, maintainability, and reliability.
• Experience working with global or distributed development teams and collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to gather requirements, define solutions, and deliver outcomes.
• Proven ability to analyze business requirements, document technical solutions, solve complex problems, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience demonstrating relevant technical expertise will also be considered.
