Position Summary:
The Senior Site Planner will play a critical role in the successful planning and design of Mevion proton therapy system installations, including current S250i and S250-FIT and future products. This role is responsible for leading customer site planning efforts from early feasibility assessment through issued-for-construction documentation and into construction oversight. The Senior Site Planner serves as the primary technical design liaison between Mevion and customer architectural/engineering teams, ensuring site designs align with product requirements, regulatory standards, and system integration needs. This role partners closely with Sales and the Customer Project Manager during early opportunity development and maintains ownership of Mevion Site Planning Guides and technical documentation standards.
Essential Functions:
- Lead site planning team, incorporating project and resource planning tools
- Serve as a primary technical site planning contact for customer design teams from feasibility through final construction documentation.
- Lead early-stage feasibility assessments in collaboration with Sales, including site evaluations, layout studies, and infrastructure suitability analysis.
- Develop and review site layouts, equipment plans, and technical drawing packages to ensure alignment with Mevion system requirements.
- Develop templates to improve inspection process for technical documents and construction work.
- Coordinate closely with internal engineering (mechanical, electrical, controls, shielding) to integrate system requirements into customer building designs.
- Review and approve architectural and engineering drawings at defined design milestones (SD, DD, CD phases).
- Identify and proactively resolve design conflicts affecting installation, system performance, or regulatory compliance.
- Travel to customer sites to perform site inspections and verify alignment with Mevion system requirements, identifying deviations early and recommending corrective actions.
- Attend in-person design coordination meetings with customers, architects, engineers, and construction teams as required.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve Mevion Site Planning Guides and related technical documentation.
- Produce and maintain standardized drawing templates, site requirement specifications, and installation criteria documents.
- Provide design input to new product development teams to ensure site integration requirements are clearly defined and documented.
- Support cross-functional handoff from Site Planning to Project Execution teams, ensuring design intent is clearly documented and communicated.
- Provide technical guidance to internal stakeholders on site-specific constraints and infrastructure requirements.
Education, Training, &

Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, related technical field required, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in site planning, architectural coordination, or technical design for capital equipment installations.
- Experience coordinating complex building systems including high-voltage electrical, HVAC, structural support, radiation shielding, and IT infrastructure.
- Experience in healthcare environments preferred; radiation oncology or medical device installation experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing and producing construction documentation.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit required, Solidworks experience desirable.
- Experience with Bluebeam or similar drawing review tools highly desirable.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) desirable for opportunity tracking and feasibility support.
- Working knowledge of applicable building codes, healthcare construction standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of seismic requirements desirable
- Experience working fluidly between metric and imperial units
- Ability to work in a fast paced scale up industry balancing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Experience working on international projects and willingness to travel internationally as required.

- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.
