Job Description

The Senior Site Lean Leader serves as the lean champion for the site, leading the deployment of lean strategy and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and support functions. This role is responsible for driving a culture of operational excellence through the application of lean methodologies, problem-solving tools, and capability building. In close partnership with site leadership, the Digital team, and the Global Supply Chain Lean team, the Senior Site Lean Leader supports the site’s transformation journey, including Brilliant Factory initiatives, value stream optimization, lead time reduction, and the development of a sustainable lean culture. The role is dedicated to improving safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity while strengthening the site’s long-term competitiveness and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Lean Strategy Deployment:

  • Lead the deployment of the site lean strategy in alignment with GE Vernova operational priorities and business objectives.
  • Develop annual lean and AWO plans for the site in partnership with site leadership, ensuring alignment with key business goals and operational improvement targets.
  • Build and maintain the site’s long-term lean vision, including the development of a 10-turn site vision and roadmap to drive significant lead time improvement across value streams.
  • Own the Value Stream Mapping and Lean Roadmap plan for the site and ensure value stream priorities are clearly identified, reviewed, and executed.

Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving:

  • Lead lean transformation and continuous improvement projects across site functions.
  • Be responsible for resolving operational problems through the application of lean methodologies and structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Identify waste, process inefficiencies, and performance gaps, and develop effective solutions to improve flow, reduce lead time, and enhance process stability. Leverage multiple improvement tools and methodologies, including lean, kaizen, workouts, Six Sigma, CAP, and quality practices, to drive sustainable performance improvement.

Brilliant Factory and Digital Integration:

  • Partner closely with the Digital team to support and implement Brilliant Factory initiatives across the site.
  • Drive the integration of lean and digital solutions to improve process visibility, operational control, decision-making speed, and overall manufacturing effectiveness.
  • Support the site’s digital and operational transformation by identifying opportunities where lean and digital capabilities can be combined for maximum impact.

Lean Culture and Capability Building:

  • Coach, train, and mentor site leadership and functional teams on lean fundamentals, lean principles, and operational excellence practices.
  • Develop and execute the site lean training plan to strengthen organizational capability and build a sustainable continuous improvement skill set.
  • Actively communicate and promote lean culture across all levels of the organization, influencing behaviors and reinforcing a mindset of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a change agent by advocating transformation, mobilizing cross-functional teams, and aligning people around a common vision for lean and operational excellence.

Leadership Engagement and Governance:

  • Develop and lead the site lean pulsing process with both internal and external leadership to ensure regular review of progress, performance, and priorities.
  • Partner with the Global Supply Chain Lean team to lead projects and develop solutions to site challenges under the broader lean framework.
  • Establish clear operating mechanisms, governance routines, and performance follow-up processes to ensure lean initiatives are effectively implemented and sustained.
  • Drive best practice sharing across teams and functions, and identify opportunities to simplify processes through collaboration and standardization.

Operational Performance Improvement:

  • Support measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, cost, and productivity through lean deployment.
  • Drive significant annual lead time reduction across targeted value streams, with a strong focus on flow, responsiveness, and customer value.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve operational rigor, standard work, process discipline, and execution consistency across the site.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited university or college in Engineering, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in manufacturing, supply chain, lean deployment, or operational excellence within an industrial environment.
  • Hands-on experience in driving lean transformation and implementing strategic improvement projects on the production shop floor.
  • Solid understanding of lean manufacturing, production system concepts, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with value stream mapping, lead time reduction, and lean daily management.
  • Six Sigma skills and experience are preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, influencing, and change leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach leaders and teams, work across functions, and drive sustainable organizational change.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and operate successfully in a matrix environment.
