Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Site Facilities Manager, who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the ongoing function of each facility task such as reception, print centre, classroom training, car rental & vehicle leases, physical security, building maintenance, catering, mailing records, waste management, contractor management, etc...

  • Defining and managing risks and measure performance in his/her capacity as site manager.

  • Determining office and industrial space requirements based on staff projections and business plans

  • Contributing to plan investments and budgeting costs at his/her level

  • Contributing to develop a flexible long term management tactical strategy at his/her level to sustain the value of buildings and technical equipment.

  • Supervising and coordinating the activities of all technical contractors, checking that the services provided are in line with the contracts by identifying inadequate service delivery.

  • Being able to translate technical issues into business requirements. Ensuring the planning of work and resources regarding the buildings and office premises including cleaning, catering, security, space, environment and utilities management.

  • Possessing a good understanding of building operating systems, the ability to identify and troubleshoot maintenance issues using trade techniques.

  • Preparing relevant contract documents for managing and monitoring performance.

  • Ensuring the management of projects - either new installations and/or refurbishment.

  • Being able to prepare detailed calculations of costs and investment planning required for company goods and services at the lowest rates permitted and the best quality.

  • Assisting in planning disaster, life safety and fire safety programs

  • Maintaining the facility tangible assets and maximizes the asset lifetime

  • Insuring the alignment of the corporate tangible assets policy with the sustainability targets for Facilities through the energy rating & life cycle management.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

  • Formal Real Estate or Facilities qualification is a plus

  • Understanding of the Local Real Estate Specific Legislation

  • Understanding of the Local Sustainability principles and standards (NABERS)

  • Project Management & Planning

  • Contracts Management

  • HSE / FM Standards & Certifications
