What you will be doing:

You're invited to join our dynamic and mission-driven General Relief Unit team as a Senior Services Technician.

In this role, you will:

  • Receive and process applications for financial assistance for assisted living placements through General Relief Assisted Living Home Care Program to make accurate, timely eligibility determinations and benefit authorizations.
  • Collaborate closely with service providers, consumers, and teammates to creatively problem-solve unique, case-by-case situations, while handling a mix of clerical and administrative duties that keep your days interesting and engaging.
  • Hybrid remote work may be available for this position after completing a probationary period

This position is located in Anchorage. The office is located in Northeast Anchorage (1835 Bragaw Street). It is near Costco, East High School, various restaurants, and a coffee shop. Parking is readily available at the office.

You will work closely with other members in both the Division and the Department of Health. There may be an opportunity for a hybrid telework schedule once you have successfully passed the probation period.

Examples of duties

High school graduation or equivalent:

AND

Three years of clerical experience with one year of experience in public health, health care services, senior services, medical assistance programs, health education, nursing, medical social work, health services administration or a closely related field.

Substitution: College education from an accredited college with a course emphasis in social services or a related field may substitute for the required experience.

Qualifications
