Your Position:

In this role, you will be working on technical and support activities within our Automated Case Picking solution, covering everything from electrical and mechanical systems to instrumentation and warehouse control systems. Your main goal will be to boost asset performance by organizing modifications, performing corrective maintenance, and making performance improvements to Vanderlande equipment and assets.

You will be the go-to-person for more complex technical issues, acting as the first responder. Reporting to the Shift Leader, you will offer expert advice on system performance and help create a culture of continuous improvement within the shift teams. You will also play a key role in developing the technical skills of our site teams to meet service goals.

Additionally, you'll take the lead during system outages, ensuring clear and timely communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and fix complex technical issues to keep systems running smoothly.

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.

  • Provide excellent service by quickly resolving technical issues.Keep an eye on system performance and make improvements to boost efficiency and reliability.

  • Stay updated with new technologies and find ways to improve service delivery.

  • Help develop and implement plans to enhance service delivery and support the distribution centre’s goals.

  • Lead training sessions to boost the technical skills of the service team.

  • Encourage open communication and teamwork.

  • Initiatives to boost system performance and efficiency.

  • Coach and mentor junior technicians.

  • Work with internal teams on maintenance and performance issues.

  • Lead technical outages and resolve issues to maintain system performance.

  • Improve maintenance plans and deliver analysis to avoid service delays.

  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement projects.

  • Optimise service delivery and advise on system maintainability.

About You

This role is ideal for an individual who strives to add value, cultivate a collaborative approach to service delivery and has a passion for continuous improvement.

  • A degree, diploma, or certificate in mechanical engineering and/or electrical engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.

  • Proficiency in using CMMS/WMS/WCS and other industry-related software.

  • Experience of supporting automated systems with a good level of electro-mechanical skills.

  • Mechanical fault-finding and fault-rectification skills, including the replacement and configuration of various field devices (inverters, sensors, scanners etc.) and fault-rectification skills mechanically (gearboxes / bearings / sprockets / drives etc.).A customer-oriented approach to minimise disruptions during service activities in Operational environments and ensure client satisfaction.

  • Strong analytical capabilities to interpret data, control system reports, and diagnostics for efficient asset/equipment management.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including experience in supervising service teams within similar environments.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and senior management combined with a willingness and ability to provide guidance and mentorship to other service team members, fostering their growth and development.
