Are you passionate about solving complex water treatment challenges and ready to take your field service career to the next level? Then join us in our mission to pioneer smarter solutions for moving and transforming water, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing quality of life for people.

As our new Service Representative II, you will be servicing a diverse range of water treatment technologies, from midrange electrical rotating equipment like aeration mixers to advanced membrane-based systems—while mentoring junior technicians and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You'll be part of a diverse, supportive and inclusive culture that celebrates our differences and puts people first by fostering growth, well-being, and a sense of belonging.

What you will be doing

As a key part of the Lifecycle Services team, you'll create impact by Delivering reliable water treatment system performance across customer sites, driving operational improvements and fostering the growth of the next generation of service technicians.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Perform startup, commissioning, customer training, and troubleshooting for midrange electrical rotating equipment including aeration mixers, deaerators, and water softening systems
  • Conduct startup, commissioning, and seeding for advanced membrane-based systems including MBR and RO technologies
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues including PLC panel troubleshooting to minimize downtime and optimize system performance
  • Support retrofits across water treatment systems, enhancing equipment functionality and longevity
  • Diagnose and resolve moderate mechanical and electrical PLC Panel troubleshooting to maintain system reliability
  • Build training documentation for all Newterra product lines, including policies, procedures, and PowerPoints.
  • Mentor Level I technicians, build training documentation, and use CRM/SharePoint tools to track root cause analysis and document service activities
  • Coordinate travel schedules, customer communications, and onsite service visits independently while participating in handoff meetings with Project Managers and End Users

This is a primarily remote position; however, candidates must reside within commuting distance of Brockville, Ontario, and be available to travel to the site as needed.

What makes you great fit

Above all, you are a hands-on technical professional with intermediate water treatment knowledge, strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to independently manage customer-facing responsibilities while mentoring others. We would also imagine that you have:

  • Experience commissioning and troubleshooting water treatment systems with midrange electrical components including mixers, pumps, HMI/SCADA controls, and instrumentation
  • Intermediate knowledge of water treatment processes and midrange electrical systems with a focus on delivering innovative solutions
  • Basic understanding of electrical drawings, P&IDs, and 4-20mA instrumentation and scaling
  • Valid driver's license along with a valid passport (or can get one) and have a clean driving record and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time needed
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to lift to 50 lbs., and proficiency with CRM systems and record-keeping

It is a plus if you also have:

  • Experience troubleshooting VFDs (e.g., Schneider, Danfoss, Allen-Bradley)
  • Familiarity with instrumentation such as level transducers, flow meters, pH probes, or DO probes
  • Experience building training documentation including policies, procedures, and presentations

The salary range for this position is $31.00 to 42.00 per hour CAD. Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range listed is just one component of Newterra’s total compensation and benefits package for employees. Total compensation includes paid time off, paid holidays, merit increases, commissions for sales employees, etc. Salary rates are benchmarked and reflect the target for new hire salaries for the position in Brockville, CA.
