Job Description

What’s the role?

Join our Network Tools team and help deliver highly resilient on-premises and SaaS services that provide network visibility across Westpac’s Secure Network Services group and application teams. You’ll design, develop, implement and support network tooling infrastructure and Machine Learning Operations solutions, while managing platforms across their full lifecycle. Working with project teams, architects and engineers, you’ll define requirements, test and onboard services, improve existing capabilities and identify opportunities for new tooling, automation and machine learning solutions. You’ll also contribute to operational support and help enhance the team’s processes and procedures.

What do I need?

  • Strong experience administering enterprise network monitoring and management tools, with deep expertise in NetScout.
  • Experience with network tools such as Tufin, SolarWinds, Cisco ISE, ThousandEyes, Accedian, Cisco Secure Network Analytics or Elasticsearch.
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux operating systems and experience supporting tooling platforms in complex technology environments.
  • Automation capability using AI agents and agentic workflows, with an interest in identifying opportunities for machine learning across network services.
  • Coding or automation skills using at least one of Shell scripting, Python or Ansible playbooks.
  • Experience supporting the full lifecycle of technology platforms, including design, procurement, deployment, operational support and maintenance.
  • Ability to work with project teams to define requirements and design, test, validate and onboard services into network tooling platforms.
  • Knowledge of enterprise networking technologies from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto and VMware NSX would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with F5 load balancing, DNS, DHCP, IPAM and dynamic routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF would be advantageous.
  • Strong collaboration and continuous-improvement skills, with the ability to work effectively with architects, engineers, management and project teams.
