Job Title: Support Engineer

Organization Name: NEC Corporation of India Ltd.

Reporting Relationship: Project Manager

We are looking for a Desktop Support Engineer who has L2 level experience n troubleshooting hardware and network devices.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Knowledge of Service Now.
  2. Familiar with running SSH commands on network devices.
  3. Experience using Citrix Desktops.
  4. Experience using Remote Desktop to configure hardware and software on Windows computers.
  5. Knowledge of DHCP and DNS.
  6. Experience working incidents passed to them from lower tier support groups.
  7. Experience troubleshooting complex hardware and software components.
  8. Knowledge of configuring network base printers

Bonus Points

  1. Knowledge of Point-of-Sale peripherals.
  2. Experience working in retail domain.
  3. Experience writing knowledge base articles.

Minimum requirements

  • L2 level of trouble shooting
  • Qualification: - BCA/MCA/B Tech/BE or equivalent
  • Provide case status updates to Customer and Retail Solutions personnel.
  • Ensure customer satisfactions by advising customers on preventative measures, appropriate solutions and configurations which may impact product performance. Minimum 3 years’ experience.

General IT Infrastructure Systems Administration work focuses on installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems software and hardware for multi-user server computers and/or personal computing devices including:

  • Meeting end user needs by ensuring the uptime, performance, resource availability, and security of the computers managed within established budgets and operational guidelines
  • Acquiring, installing, and upgrading computer components and software and planning for/responding to service outages and other problems
  • Automating routine tasks using scripting and writing basic computer programs to address more complex systems software configuration and enhancement

Level Description

Senior support level position requiring a broad knowledge of operational procedures and tools typically obtained through extensive work experience though may require vocational or technical training. Typically works under limited supervision for routine situations whilst providing assistance and training to lower level employees. Generally works on tasks/problems that are not routine and requires analysis to understand. Provides assistance and training to lower level employees.
