The Security business operates as a Sales Pursuit Team with deep domain knowledge of enterprises' digital business. That includes network infrastructure and application security requirements. As a Sales Specialist you will collaborate with the wider Akamai team and channel partners to pursue and generate sales opportunities.

Become an API Security Sales Specialist

As an API Security Sales Specialist, this role offers flexibility uncommon in sales. Shape a region, target accounts, and influence strategy. Bring an entrepreneurial spirit and professional expertise to contribute effectively to the go-to-market approach.

You will be responsible for:

• Being a leader in driving the Enterprise Security agenda internally and externally.
• Possessing charisma, energy and finesse to be a leader in driving the Enterprise Security agenda internally and externally
• Being adaptive, creative and resourceful, with a desire to operate in a start-up, undefined and matrix mode
• Demonstrating Enterprise Domain Expertise - Infrastructure, applications, networking or security background(s) in selling to senior executives

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a proven track record of creating interest and pipeline within new or existing accounts
• Be able to understand why customers have brought from Akamai and articulate these in anecdotes or case-studies
• Demonstrate experience working with multiple teams including Sales, SE, Customer Success, Renewals and Customer Advocacy
• Have experience leading teams within a matrixed organization
• Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills
• Have experience in digital cybersecurity, API Security, API Gateway and Cloud Service Providers
