Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Security Engineer to join our port and terminal operations team in Kuwait. In this senior-level position, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive security systems and protocols to protect our port facilities, personnel, and assets. You will lead security initiatives, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with international maritime security standards while maintaining operational efficiency.

  • Design, implement, and maintain integrated security systems including access control, surveillance, and monitoring infrastructure across port and terminal facilities
  • Conduct comprehensive security risk assessments and threat analyses to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols aligned with ISPS Code and international maritime security regulations
  • Oversee incident response procedures, investigate security breaches, and document findings with detailed reports
  • Manage and supervise security personnel, providing training, guidance, and performance oversight
  • Monitor security operations through CCTV systems, alarm systems, and other surveillance technologies
  • Perform regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Collaborate with port management, law enforcement, and external security agencies to coordinate security operations
  • Maintain detailed security documentation, logs, and records for audit and compliance purposes
  • Stay current with emerging security threats and technologies relevant to port and terminal operations
  • Manage security budgets and procurement of security equipment and systems

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15+ years of professional security experience, with at least 5 years in port, terminal, or maritime security operations
  • Proven expertise in physical security systems, access control, and surveillance technologies
  • Strong knowledge of port security protocols, ISPS Code, and international maritime security regulations
  • Demonstrated experience in security risk assessment, threat analysis, and vulnerability management
  • Proficiency with security information and event management (SIEM) systems and security monitoring tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Leadership experience managing security teams and personnel
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Professional security certification such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or equivalent
  • Port-specific security certifications or training (preferred)
  • Experience with incident investigation and response procedures
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals as they relate to port operations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
