PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To plan, direct and ensure that all survey activities relating to development ends, stopes, ore reserves areas, drawing of plans and sections are carried out efficiently and in conformity with specifications and standard professional practices
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12/ STD 10/ NQF level 4 is essential
- Mine Surveying or Minerals Surveying National Diploma or NQF 6 equivalent or Advance survey Certificate is essential
- 4 years working experience in a survey department is essential
- Excellent Excel, MS Word & PowerPoint skills (Including SAP) is essential
- A valid medical Certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate
KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS:
The successful candidate is responsible to:
- Champion safety as the foremost priority at the operation
- Maintains accurate records of all statistics in connection with ore production layout of developments and projects, ore reserves and makes them available upon request by management
- Supervises safety duties such as safety audits, safety interaction and intervention, risk assessments and other safety duties in accordance with company standards
- Constructs survey plans or stoping and development operations
- Determines areas to be surveyed
- Check and authorizes survey notes
- Ensures survey plans comply with legal requirements
- Establishes survey control and aligns drilling machines
- Uses instruments, takes readings to determine specified locations
- Drafts maps, drawings and create a database of survey data including development layouts, production drill mark-ups and miscellaneous layouts
- Updates relevant maps, drawings and databases with any amended information
- Assist with feasibility assessment, considering appropriate criteria
- Assist with project proposals, designs layouts and picks-up of drill/blast and digging areas
