ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Scrum Master / Senior Scrum Master supporting Backend, API, Personalization, Recommendation, and Search teams, you will be responsible for enabling predictable, high-quality delivery across complex, large-scale engineering systems.

This role requires strong ownership of Agile execution. You will work closely with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Data Science, and Platform teams to ensure teams operate efficiently, dependencies are managed proactively, and delivery commitments are met.

We are looking for Scrum Masters who can independently drive Agile maturity, remove execution bottlenecks, and support teams building high-throughput, data-intensive, and ML-powered backend systems without the need for constant hand-holding.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.

• Enable end-to-end sprint execution for backend, API, and ML-focused teams, ensuring delivery commitments are realistic and predictable.

• Track sprint progress, velocity, risks, and dependencies, proactively identifying and removing impediments.

• Partner closely with Engineering Managers and Product Managers to ensure backlog readiness, prioritization, and alignment with business goals.

• Follows direction from the agile adoption strategy and rollout plans for teams across the organization.

• Develops and evaluates team metrics and makes recommendations in improving agile processes and metrics. Captures feedback to foster collaboration and emotional intelligence across the organization.

• Manage cross-team dependencies across backend, data, ML, and search platforms.

• Drive continuous improvement using Agile metrics such as velocity, cycle time, and sprint health.

• Coach teams on Agile and Scrum best practices while adapting processes to real-world engineering constraints.

• Support release planning, roadmap execution, and delivery reporting for leadership visibility.

• Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within teams.
  

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 4–8+ years of experience working as a Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead, or similar role.

• Strong experience supporting backend, platform, API, data, or ML engineering teams.
  Solid understanding of Agile and Scrum frameworks with hands-on experience applying them at scale.

• Experience working in fast-paced, high-ownership product organizations.

• Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Hands-on experience using Agile delivery tools such as Jira and Confluence.

• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive execution with minimal guidance.

• Working experience working with and applying Agile methodologies and tools, and lean Agile practices (SAFe. Scrum, Kanban)

• Scrum Master Certification (CSM), desirable
