Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Scrum Master to support our FIS Cloud Platform team during a major growth and transformation phase. You will work with a highly mature platform engineering team , guiding it through scaling, organizational change, and the evolution towards stream-aligned, product-oriented team structures .

This role goes far beyond classic Scrum facilitation: you will actively shape how agile works at scale in a " platform as a product" environment and help establish sustainable structures for long-term growth.

Your Role

You will act as a trusted agile coach and change partner for a technically strong platform team that currently consists of ~15 engineers and is expected to grow to 30+ members by 2027 .

Your focus will be on scaling agility responsibly , preserving team culture, and enabling organizational structures that align architecture, teams, and customer needs.

After the transformation phase, you will remain the dedicated Scrum Master for the evolved team setup, ensuring continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Lead the agile transformation from a single, mature Scrum team to multiple stream-aligned, cross-functional feature teams , potentially embedded in a broader platform product line
  • Design and implement scaling approaches (e.g. LeSS, Scrum@Scale ) that support sustainable growth without sacrificing agility or engineering quality.
  • Support organizational design by aligning team structures with platform architecture and customer value streams, applying Conway's Law consciously.
  • Act as Scrum Master across the scaled setup, facilitating Scrum events (Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives, Daily Scrums) in a multi-team context.
  • D rive change management during the transition from today's mixed operational/feature workload towards more scalable and focused team structures.
  • Enable cross-team alignment on product vision, priorities, and customer outcomes in close collaboration with Product Management and neighboring platform teams.
  • Introduce and evolve agile metrics suitable for scaling (predictability, flow, throughput, cadence), ensuring transparency across teams.
  • Coach teams and leaders on agile principles, systems thinking , and creating environments for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Coordinate with the LACE team and help establish centralized, customer-centric Sprint Reviews to improve stakeholder engagement and platform visibility.
  • Foster learning and knowledge sharing through communities of practice, guilds, and targeted enablement initiatives for platform engineers.
  • Continuously improve ways of working , remove impediments, and protect agile values in a complex, evolving environment.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in enterprise environments, ideally with platform, infrastructure, or cloud engineering teams
  • Proven experience in scaling agile from single teams to multi-team or product-line setups (hands-on experience with LeSS, Scrum@Scale, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of platform engineering and cloud-native contexts (no need to code, but you must "speak engineering").
  • Strong change management skills, with a track record of guiding teams through growth, restructuring, and organizational change.
  • Experience working with product-oriented team models and coordinating multiple teams around a shared product vision.
  • Deep knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and agile metrics, especially in mixed delivery/operations environments.
  • Excellent facilitation and coaching skills, comfortable with complex workshops, alignment sessions, and executive-level stakeholders in multicultural environments .
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including running effective, customer-focused Sprint Reviews.
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I/II); scaling certifications are a plus.
  • Fluent English is required; German is a nice-to-have.
