We are currently looking for a Senior Scientist, Mechanistic Pharmacology in Translational Research (complex in vitro models cardiovascular and renal indications) to join our team in Schlieren, ZH.
Key Tasks
Develop, optimize, and apply advanced cellular and complex in vitro models with translational relevance for cardiovascular and renal indications
Provide scientific leadership in the selection, establishment, and use of cellular model systems to support translational project objectives.
Design and execute functional assays to generate high-quality data for target validation, mechanistic studies, and characterization of therapeutic candidates.
Interact with project teams, communicating data, insights, and recommendations clearly to colleagues and stakeholders.
Support external collaborations and outsourcing activities where needed, ensuring scientific quality and alignment with project goals.
Your Profile
Postgraduate degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacology, Cell Biology, or a related scientific discipline; a PhD is preferred.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in industry or a comparable academic research environment focused on cardiovascular or kidney biology
Strong expertise in complex cellular model systems (ipsc, co-culture, organoids and/or organ-on-a-chip) and translationally relevant in vitro assay development.
A problem-solving mindset with the ability to define critical scientific questions and translate them into effective experimental strategies.
Demonstrated ability to present scientific data and concepts clearly to colleagues, cross-functional teams, and management.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external partners.
A proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented approach, combined with a curious and disciplined mindset
Strong collaborative mindset, with the flexibility to work effectively across teams and with different project stakeholders.
