As a SeniorScientistIIsupportingthe Gumportfolioyou will lead end-to-end R&D efforts from product development tooptimizingexisting products while shaping the consumer experience.
How you will contribute
You will work independently to plan,leadand coordinate technical projects in line with R&D,marketingand manufacturing requirements.
You will plan, lead and coordinate development activities at the Lab/benchtop level to better understand the Gum Base and Encapsulation product technology (e.g. Formulation development (focusing on Structural, Chemical and Physical aspects of the materials used) and modification, product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation. etc.).
You will effectively communicate status and risks and plan, lead and coordinate pilot plant and factory trialsin accordance withgood manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements.
To provide direction for product development both locally and globally, you will use digital simulation models to obtain,understandand interpret consumer insights and commercial information.
In this role, you will create andmaintainaccurateconsumer-led specifications andbe responsible forstakeholder management and influencing decisions based on conclusions made from analysis and interpretation of results.

What you need to know about this position:
The candidate willbe responsible fordelivering a variety of projects within the Global Gum Base and Encapsulation portfolio - such asmaintainingandoptimizingproducts, supporting capacity expansion efforts, and delivering against quality and margin management goals.
The candidate must be versatile, able to work in cross-functional teams, and be capable of working proactively across multiple projects. The candidate should be able toleverageexperts/partners to ensure compliancewithdocumentation, shelf life, regulatory requirements, FTO/IP, and confidentiality requirements.

A strong understanding of the functional characteristics of polymeric materials, ingredients, packaging materials, and process unit operations, including how theyimpactfinished products to meet consumer expectations.
Drive excellence in Project Management
Plan and execute work plans, including development of timelines, risk assessments and contingency plans
Analyze results of experiments and translate them into actionable recommendations with minimal guidance and support
Have strong knowledge of the commercialization process
Identify and efficiently utilize necessary resources to achieve timely delivery of project objectives
Education / Certifications: BS / MS in Polymer Science, Chemistry, ChemicalEngineeringor related field.
Job specific requirements:
Minimum of 5-8 years' experience, preferably in the Chemical,Polymeror food industry.
Strong technical foundation anda highlevel of technical curiosity.
Ability to develop and drive technicalprojectwith proper scientific rigor: conductappropriate testing, gather and analyze data, and develop recommendations based on findings.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects,prioritizeand manage complexity- from bench top to execution.
Participate in cross functional teams toidentifyand resolve technical issues.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization
Travel requirements: Travel up to 30%, to global locations (US, LATAM, Europe, Asia)
Work schedule: This is a full-time role and could be based in East Hanover, NJ or in Mexico City with in-office expectations of 2-3 days per week.
The base salary range for this position is $97,300 to $133,815; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education and location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
