Brief Job Overview
The Healthcare Quality & Safety (HQS) Compounding team is seeking a highly organized, detail oriented temporary specialist to support technical queries related to USP General Chapters <795>, <797>, <800> and compounded preparation monographs. This role will address stakeholder inquiries, identifying emerging themes of interest for educational webinars, maintain high quality public facing FAQs that support consistent understanding of USP compounding standards, and feed into AI tools to improve stakeholder experience.
This role is a remote CONTRACT for 3 months, governed by contractor's policies and option to receive contractor's benefits.

The Technical Support Specialist - Compounding Queries has the following responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience synthesizing technical compounding information, and deep expertise in USP compounding standards and compounding monographs.
1. Technical query responses:
· Respond to questions received in the USP customer email boxes related to USP compounding standards.
· Draft clear, accurate responses using established guidance, HQS resources, and subject matter expert input aligned with program messaging.
· Identify common or emerging topics suitable for stakeholder capability building activities.
· From the queries, facilitate updates to public facing FAQs for USP <795>, <797>, <800> and compounded preparation monographs, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with the official standards.
· Shape AI modules that address technical standards-based queries helping to refine answers and improve system capabilities.
2. Perform review, consolidation, and preparation of materials in support of the Compounding Documentary Standards Scientist.
Who is USP Looking For?
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of our mission, commitment to excellence through inclusive and equitable behaviors and practices, ability to quickly build credibility with stakeholders, along with the following competencies and experience:
· Compounding pharmacist or pharmacy technician, with a degree in pharmacy (PharmD).
· Strong proficiency in USP compounding standards, <795>, <797>, <800> as well as compounded preparation monographs.
· Strong written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into clear messages.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None, this is an individual contributor role.
Compensation
Contractor Hourly Range: USD $70.44 – $91.81 per hour.

In addition to collaborating on critical healthcare and science matters, every five years, Convention Members adopt USP Resolutions and elect USP’s Board of Trustees and the Council of Experts who lead USP’s standards-setting Expert Committees.
