Job Description

Senior Scientific Project Manager – AI for Drug Discovery (M/F)

Permanent Contract | Paris-based or Remote (Europe)

Company

Adoc Talent Management
is recruiting a Senior Scientific Project Manager on behalf of its client, a fast-growing European Tech-Bio company at the forefront of revolutionizing drug discovery.

This innovative start’up leverages breakthrough technologies at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Systems Engineering, and Multi-omics data to develop high-fidelity digital models of human cells. By replacing traditional in vitro testing with advanced in silico simulations, they accelerate the identification of novel therapeutic targets. Backed by international investors and collaborating with Top-tier Pharmaceutical companies and world-class academic laboratories, the company is experiencing significant global growth and is now expanding its strategic coordination team.

As Senior Project Manager and scientific lead for AI, you will occupy a high-impact, strategic position, acting as the essential bridge between the Tech/AI Research team and the Drug Discovery department

Your mission is to ensure that every project creates maximum value for pharma clients by integrating AI potential and scientific feasibility from the very start, ensuring that cutting-edge machine learning capabilities are translated into high-value discovery outcomes for our pharmaceutical partners. You will not only coordinate tasks but actively drive the scientific orientation of the roadmap and research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Interface: Align AI research initiatives with Drug Discovery objectives to prioritize projects based on their scientific and business impact.
  • Project Leadership: Plan and execute AI-driven research projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest scientific standards.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Lead interdisciplinary teams (ML engineers, bioinformaticians, and biologists…), fostering seamless communication and removing technical or organizational bottlenecks, coping with the Pharma PMO standards.
  • Roadmap Influence: Participate in defining the scientific roadmap by identifying how the latest AI advancements (Generative AI, Causal AI) can solve concrete drug discovery hurdles.
  • Stakeholder Management: Facilitate regular project meetings and provide high-level reporting/dashboards for leadership and external pharma collaborators.
  • Operational Excellence: Promote best practices in data governance, reproducibility, and research quality standards.

The position is remote-friendly within Europe, with a requirement to visit the Parisian office at least once a month to maintain team cohesion.

Ideal Profile

We are looking for a hybrid talent, a "bridge builder" who understands both the constraints of drug development and the power of Artificial Intelligence.

  • Scientific Background: You hold a PhD in AI, machine learning, deep learning or a closely related field. You are highly proficient in the latest AI advancements for Drug Discovery
(Generative models, single-cell sequencing, systems biology). You understand the "how" and the "why" of AI applications in health.
  • Professional Experience: You have 5+ years of experience managing complex scientific projects acquired in a Tech-Bio startup, a specialized CRO, or a consulting firm with a strong "AI for Health" or "R&D Transformation" practice. You have a solid understanding of the Pharma/Biotech business model and have successfully managed projects involving large pharmaceutical accounts.
  • Soft Skills: You are organized, agile, problem-solver and a persuasive communicator. You can translate technical AI jargon into strategic value for biologists and business stakeholders.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory Knowledge of French is a plus but is not a requirement for this role.

Why Join?

This is a unique opportunity to work at the bleeding edge of AI and Biology in a test & learn and highly ambitious innovative environment. You will join a team of world-class experts where creativity and goal-orientation are the core values, working on projects that aim to fundamentally change how medicine is developed. Please send your application (CV, list of major projects conducted, publications and patents, motivations, salary expectations) to Adoc Talent Management.
