Job Description

Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking a Senior Scheduler to join our Facilities Sector. The Senior Scheduler will act as an integral member of an owner’s program and project controls team, being directly responsible for scheduling multiple, interdependent projects of a large scale ($100m+ in value). This role will work collaboratively with other elements of the owner’s team, including project managers, construction managers, other controls discipline leads, and claims staff, to monitor, report on, and negotiate issues on assigned projects. This role will also review the designer and contractor submitted schedules and perform analysis as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews project schedule submittals by Design and Contractor Teams.
  • Performs independent analysis of submitted schedules for Owner, ensuring all schedule submittals meet or exceed the requirements set forth by the contracts. These independent analyses include, but are not limited to, the review of:
    • Preliminary schedules
    • Baseline schedules
    • Four-week look-ahead schedules
    • Monthly schedule updates and corresponding recovery schedules/time impact analysis/time
    • extension requests (as applicable)
    • As-Built Project Schedules
  • Facilitates coordination on interface issues between multiple projects.
  • Ensures submitted schedules follow LAWA project code and activity code structure.
  • Identifies, understands and applies the relevant sections of the contract to each claim.
  • Assists with change order and claims disputes.
  • Completes analyses of contractor’s delay claims and related time impact analyses within context of the contract documents and industry practice; examine the claim and actual schedule for later or earlier completion; identify related disruption, acceleration and recovery opportunities; and recommend apportionment of the delay and/or acceleration and any additional associated costs in accordance with applicable, accepted practices, such as AACE International issued Recommended Practice No. 29 Forensic Schedule Analysis (RP 29).
  • Provide reports of analyses and briefing materials as required. Develop reports that effectively communicate complex project sequencing and/or forensic assessments.
  • As applicable to particular claims, provide observations on potential delay mitigation, related schedule issues, communicate to team and recommend alternatives, if any Contribute to the advancement of the client's goals through commitment to productive collaboration with all stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related technical field
  • 10 years or more of scheduling experience with 5 plus years in direct support of an active construction project
  • Direct forensic scheduling experience to support claims analysis on large-scale, complex heavy civil, vertical, and horizontal projects (projects of at least $200M value and 3-years or greater duration), particularly for assessment of delay claims and potential owner’s liabilities
  • Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR, and Design/Build
  • Demonstrated experience scheduling for multiple concurrent and interrelated projects
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical and schedule-related information in oral and written form to non-expert audiences
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other subject matter experts and resources to support the owner’s evaluation of claims
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical and complicated construction programs, contracts, and the ability to communicate progress and findings to both technical and management-level personnel
  • Proven accuracy, reliability and completeness in job accomplishment
  • Requires advanced use of Oracle Primavera software (mastery of Primavera Project Planner Version 6.0 or higher required), along with related software tools such as Schedule Analyzer, Microsoft Project, Claims Digger, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in aviation and large transportation projects is highly desirable
  • Relevant Professional Licensure & Certifications are strongly preferred

Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000

Location: Los Angeles
