Job Description

As a Senior SCADA and DCS Engineer the selected candidate will be responsible for development and enhancement of Dubai Municipalitys SCADA specifications, design drawings, monitoring & control signals, reviewing engineering submissions across various projects. This includes development of designs and schematics, selection of components and softwares.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare & review SCADA, DCS functional design specification ensuring it uses the best mix of latest technology, cyber security and meeting the specific need for the recycled water and sewerage industry.
  • Prepare terms of reference documents.
  • Prepare concept designs (design drawings, system architecture & BOQs).
  • Review quality and test documentation and Witness FAT/SAT of SCADA systems.
  • Facilitate the coordination between multidisciplinary specialists, departments such as network, security, GIS etc for the integration of services to a common integrated SCADA platform.
  • Shall liaison with SI, O.E.M, contractor, consultant during conceptualization, engineering, implementation, commissioning, handing over of the system to ensure the compliance and acceptance to the end user.
  • Shall review, evaluate SCADA, DCS systems from multivendor and provide recommendations based on specific needs.
  • Shall review project and execution plan, identify milestone and follow-up with relevant stakeholder, project team etc
  • Participate in risk Identification/Hazard Analysis and HAZOP.
  • Working closely with other project managers, engineers and MEP team to ensure proper integration and coordination of all system elements within the projects.
  • Conducting regular quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of the system models, drawings, and associated documentation.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • 15 years of experience in the infrastructure construction industry (on SCADA, DCS Systems). Experience in the Sewerage & Recycled Water Industry is preferred.
  • Previous experience in design verifications, supervising complex EPC contractors, and field verifications.
  • Engineering Degree in Instrumentation & Controls / Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Masters degree will be an added preference.
  • SCADA, DCS or other control system certifications.
  • Good knowledge of international standards and best practices related to instrumentation and control systems.
  • Experience in preparing technical specifications and tender documents
  • Must have good knowledge on digitalization and the relevant technologies
  • Shall have worked on different technologies in the field of communication and aware of the interoperability with different types of communication protocols.
  • Shall have experience with major SCADA, DCS brands such as Yokogawa, SIEMENS, ABB, ROCKWELL, SCHNEIDER etc.
  • Shall have worked on redundant hot standby systems from major brands such as siemens, Rockwell, Schneider etc.
  • Shall have proven experience in working with various network redundancy protocols such as RSTP, STP, MRP, HRP etc and have worked on the relevant hardware from different manufacturers.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork
