We are looking for a SAS Viya DevOps Engineer to join the Modelling & Analytics Chapter within TECH / Finance & Risk. In this role, you will contribute to delivering value within the Risk Modelling domain.
Within the Risk domain, the focus is on managing and supporting risk modelling capabilities that are essential for maintaining a competitive advantage. High-performing models enable accurate predictions, such as assessing the probability of customer default, supporting well-informed decisions for business and consumer lending.
The organisation provides state-of-the-art tooling to support a global modelling community. The goal is to deliver standardized, secure, compliant, reliable, scalable, and high-performing environments aligned with the target infrastructure.
We operate using a Scrum Agile framework and follow a BusDevOps approach, working closely with business stakeholders. The emphasis is on anticipating needs and delivering secure, scalable, and reliable platforms through iterative development cycles, with regular milestones and a strong focus on compliance.
The team
You will work in an international and technically skilled environment with experienced SAS professionals and DevOps engineers. The platform is continuously evolving, introducing new features and capabilities.
The primary platform is based on SAS Viya (3.5/4.0), running as a containerized solution on the Azure Cloud, delivered as a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) product from SAS Institute.
We are looking for someone who brings strong technical expertise, combined with a proactive and collaborative mindset.
Roles and responsibilities
As a SAS Viya DevOps Engineer, you play a key role in delivering and maintaining a high-performing SAS Viya (3.5/4.0) platform. You are responsible for the rollout, configuration, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance of the environment, leveraging modern CI/CD practices and SRE principles to ensure a secure, scalable, and reliable service.
Understand the behaviour of your application in failure scenarios, and drive improvements in line with ING’s Reliability objectives,
Realize non-functional requirements, for example regarding Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability, risk, compliance and security, in line with existing
Solve Incidents policies and at all levels (OS, application),
Perform Support Hero Role along with other colleagues. Occasional support in the weekend is required,
Build code from scratch or maintain/extend existing implementations for provisioning, configuring, enhancing the platform using CI/CD techniques in Azure DevOps,
Solve Incidents, problems and calls raised on the platform, conducting root cause analyses.

We are looking for you, if you:
have experience with working on Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps,
have extensive experience with Ansible and Terraform on infrastructure management (Yaml),
have experience in using GitHub CoPilot integration in VS,
knowledge of monitoring and alerting tooling or knowledge any of the following (Kibana, Logstash, Prometheus),
have 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in creating scalable, secure, stable, reliable platforms,
have good English communication skills, verbal as well as written,
are a team player, persistent, service-oriented, customer centric, eager to learn, an entrepreneur.
You'll get extra points for:
knowledge of monitoring and alerting tooling or knowledge any of the following (Kibana, Logstash, Prometheus),
experience in operating and maintaining databases.
