Location: Melle & Hasselt, Belgium
Contract Duration: 12 Months (Extension Possible)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP/ABAP Developer to join a leading organization in Belgium's energy sector. In this role, you will contribute to the development, maintenance, optimization, and support of complex SAP IS-U solutions, working on both project-based initiatives and ongoing operational improvements.

You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, analysts, application experts, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality SAP solutions that support critical business operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SAP Development & Technical Delivery

• 
  Develop, test, and document SAP ABAP solutions based on functional and technical specifications.
• 
  Build and maintain custom SAP developments including:
  • 
    Z-Programs
  • 
    User Exits
  • 
    Function Modules
  • 
    Enhancements
• 
  Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• 
  Ensure compliance with development standards and internal IT guidelines.

Analysis & Problem Resolution

• 
  Conduct end-to-end analysis and resolution of incidents and defects.
• 
  Support SIT and UAT testing activities.
• 
  Assess technical feasibility of business requirements.
• 
  Provide technical guidance and recommendations to analysts and designers.

Change & Release Management

• 
  Follow established Change and Release Management processes.
• 
  Work with SAP Solution Manager and ChaRM.
• 
  Ensure high-quality deployments and system stability.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

• 
  Document existing and newly developed functionalities.
• 
  Contribute to reverse engineering activities where required.
• 
  Support knowledge transfer and mentoring within the team.
• 
  Promote best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• 
  Work closely with business users, analysts, developers, and product owners.
• 
  Provide expert advice on projects, maintenance activities, and incident management.
• 
  Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Must-Have Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of SAP ABAP Development experience

Minimum 5 years of experience with SAP IS-U

Minimum 5 years of experience developing, debugging, and optimizing:

• 
  Z-Programs
• 
  User Exits
• 
  Function Modules

Minimum 5 years of experience working on complex SAP projects and maintenance environments

Minimum 5 years of experience within the energy sector from an energy supplier perspective

Minimum 4 years of experience with MIG6

Experience integrating SAP systems with customer and partner portals

Experience working with SAP Solution Manager and ChaRM within change and release processes

Fluent Dutch language skills ( CEFR C2)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience resolving vulnerabilities identified by SAP Code Vulnerability Analyzer

Experience with ABAP Web Dynpro

Experience working within Agile development environments

Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns

Experience working in large-scale utility or energy organizations
