Name of the Position: Senior SAP SD Functional Consultant

Company/OPCO: DIGITAL

Function/department: DAE

Reporting to: SAP support team lead

Location: Chennai

Digitalization is a strategic priority for ROCKWOOL. In alignment with this agenda, the organization is initiating the replacement of its existing ERP system with a modern solution. To ensure uninterrupted business operations during the transition, ROCKWOOL is establishing a dedicated support sub-team focused on maintaining the stability and performance of the legacy ERP platform.
Digital Department is seeking an experienced Functional SAP Senior Consultant specializing in Sales and Distribution (SD) to support ROCKWOOL operating companies (OPCOs). The candidate should combine strong SAP SD functional expertise with basic technical understanding, enabling effective communication with developers, business needs analysis, and proposing optimal solutions.

Reporting Structure

Team Members

· The SAP SD Functional Consultant reports functionally to one Functional Manager (Product Managers or Functional Team Lead) who oversees domain-specific development, skill growth, and cooperates in relation to the performance evaluation.

· The SAP SD Functional Consultant reports operationally to the SAP Support sub team – Team Lead, who coordinates day-to-day activities, ensures alignment with SAP teams goals, and facilitates team cohesion.

Key responsibilities and activities include, but is not limited to:

  • Ensure that daily operational support of the ERP ECC system meets Service Level agreement (SLAs) with the OPCOs.
  • SAP ECC configuration of SD module and cross modules integration (MM/LES/FI/CO) for End-to-End business processes
  • Work according to the strategy by delivering Value-Added IT solutions to the Business:

o Work to set direction through strategic roadmap with Solution architect and then evolve the global design with appropriate solutions, which may cut across many SAP modules and non-SAP systems, to most effectively meet business needs.

o Leverage deep understanding of how the IT tools are used by the business and how these tools interact to influence the business to think in new ways by providing design direction, including alternative options

o Lead, coordinate and facilitate with the Business Process Owner (BPO) the analysis of business requirements and processes including meeting with business users, business stake holders, decision-makers, developers, and super users

o Define and translate business requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible for business, IT consultants and management.

o Analyze business requirements through fit/gap analysis and coordinate / prioritize solution gaps with business process owners and secure change management

o Leadership role in Agile solution teams include business and IT skills to configure and develop the right solution.

· Integration with other solutions like CRM /E-Shop /CPQ/ RockCommerce

· The SAP SD Functional Consultant should have a basic understanding of

ABAP code, enabling effective cooperation with developers and initial

analysis of technical issues

· Provide functional guidance to ensure IT solution integrity and maintain

documentation updated (functional and technical specifications)

· Manage small to medium-sized projects within area of expertise. Ability to

establish project priorities and deadlines.

· Promote and maintain a flexible, cooperative, team oriented, customer-fo

cused attitude within and between departments.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistic Engineering or related field
  • At least 5 - 7 years of experience in SAP Supply Chain focused on SD module (SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA)
  • Experience with at least 2 full lifecycle SAP implementations (Ability to consistently meet agreed delivery, cost and time targets while maintaining a high quality of work)
  • Functional Expertise in Supply chain processes
  • Cross functional SAP ERP Analyst experience to include the areas of Material Management (MM) and Controlling (CO) and LES (Logistic execution)
  • Proven experience in translating business requirements into SAP solutions / in working with the business in understanding and delivering business process improvements
  • Good communication and people skills – experience dealing with users from various nationalities
  • Experience working with international and remote team providing operational support and delivering projects
  • Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus
  • Industry experience in Sales department will be added advantage.

Skills & Experience – Essential
