Job Description

Senior SAP Program Manager

(Enterprise Finance Transformation / Multi-Vendor Environment)

We are seeking a Senior SAP Program Manager to lead the implementation of new capabilities within our SAP environment as part of a broader Finance Transformation initiative.

This role requires a seasoned, hands-on program leader who can establish strong program structure, drive cross-functional accountability, and provide clear, executive-ready visibility into program health. You will partner closely with Finance Transformation Business Leads, IT Leadership, and multiple vendor partners to ensure successful execution across a complex, enterprise landscape.

This is not a passive oversight role - we are looking for a leader who builds structure, drives clarity, and does whatever it takes to move the program forward.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Governance

  • Lead complex, enterprise-scale SAP programs involving onshore/offshore teams, multiple vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive program governance structure that provides routine and detailed visibility into:
    • Established milestones
    • Key decisions
    • Entry and exit criteria for phases, deliverables, and major tasks
    • Deliverables with baselined start/end dates and assigned owners
    • Cross-functional dependencies
    • Critical path tracking and reporting
    • Risks and issues with mitigation strategies
    • Resource heat maps across business, IT, and vendor teams
    • PTO calendars to proactively identify coverage gaps
  • Continuously assess program health and provide independent, candid recommendations to improve likelihood of success

Executive Engagement & Reporting

  • Partner closely with Finance Transformation Business Leads and IT Leadership
  • Engage regularly with the Program Steering Committee and Executive Sponsors
  • Build and deliver status reporting tailored to multiple audiences:
    • Detailed, tactical reporting for program teams
    • Executive-level summaries with insights, risks, trade-offs, and recommended actions
  • Refresh and evolve reporting structures as program needs shift

Cross-Vendor & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Reinforce a collaborative team culture across business units and vendor partners
  • Build strong working relationships across Finance, Generation, Supply Chain, HR, and Technology leadership
  • Hold vendors and teams accountable while maintaining collaborative partnerships
  • Proactively resolve tension and diffuse conflict in a constructive, professional manner
  • Bridge understanding across teams and remove blockers, including engaging stakeholders outside the immediate program when necessary

Hands-On Execution

  • Roll up sleeves to close gaps in program structure, documentation, or coordination
  • Identify areas where additional clarity or alignment is needed and take initiative to address them
  • Apply creative problem-solving to sustain momentum through complex challenges

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive program/project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-workstream enterprise programs
  • Significant experience managing:
    • Onshore and offshore delivery teams
    • Multiple vendors simultaneously
    • Cross-functional enterprise stakeholders
  • Strong executive presence and comfort presenting to Steering Committees and senior leaders
  • Deep experience building structured, detailed program plans with:
    • Clear milestones and baselines
    • Dependency mapping
    • Critical path analysis
    • Risk and issue management
    • Resource tracking

Preferred Qualifications (PLUS)

  • Direct SAP implementation experience (S/4HANA or ECC)
  • Experience in Finance Transformation initiatives
  • Experience in regulated or asset-intensive industries (e.g., utilities, manufacturing, energy)
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred

What Success Looks Like

  • Clear, transparent program structure with no ambiguity in ownership, timelines, or dependencies
  • Executives have confidence in program health and direction
  • Vendors operate as an integrated team
  • Risks are surfaced early and managed proactively
  • The program moves forward with momentum, accountability, and clarity
