We are seeking a Senior SAP Functional Lead for a global S/4HANA implementation program within the fashion and apparel industry. In this executive-level role, you will be responsible for representing North American business interests, ensuring that regional processes, regulatory requirements, and operational models for the U.S., Canada, and Mexico are successfully integrated into the global ERP template.

Your tasks

• Act as the single point of contact for North America requirements within the global ERP program

• Advocate for U.S., Canada, and Mexico business needs during global template design and configuration

• Lead the design and validation of Finance (FI/CO) processes, including accounting, tax, and intercompany flows

• Lead the design and validation of Order-to-Cash (SD) processes, including wholesale, pricing, billing, and EDI flows

• Ensure alignment across wholesale, retail boutiques, and outlet operations during the requirements and design phases

• Conduct functional workshops with Finance, Wholesale, and Retail stakeholders

• Translate regional business requirements into detailed SAP functional specifications

• Identify and document gaps between the global template and regional operational needs

• Ensure cross-country compliance for U.S. GAAP, Canada GST/HST, and Mexico CFDI standards

• Identify project risks early, including missing requirements, misaligned processes, or regulatory gaps

• Propose and present risk mitigation strategies to global and regional leadership

Must have competences

• 10+ years of SAP experience, including multiple full-cycle S/4HANA implementations

• Strong functional expertise in SAP FI/CO (Finance, accounting, tax, intercompany)

• Strong functional expertise in SAP SD (Order-to-Cash, wholesale, pricing, billing, EDI flows)

• Significant experience within the fashion or apparel industry

• Proven experience with multi-country SAP implementations, specifically covering the U.S., Canada, and Mexico

• Deep understanding of regional compliance requirements, including U.S. GAAP, Canada GST/HST, and Mexico CFDI

• Demonstrated ability to work within global template programs and identify gaps between global templates and regional needs

• Experience in wholesale distribution and managing EDI/wholesale order flows

• Expertise in translating complex business requirements into SAP functional specifications

• Capability to communicate effectively at an executive level

Nice to have competences

• Experience with SAP in retail environments (strong plus)

• Awareness or experience with Retail POS (Point of Sale) integration

• Ability to diplomatically navigate and push back on global teams to ensure regional requirements are met

• Experience with high-value, high-impact global transformation projects

• Familiarity with cross-border operational models within a North American context

Additional information

The role is based in New York City (preferred), with the possibility of remote work accompanied by travel.
