We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP Basis Manager to lead the design, architecture, and delivery of SAP landscape services across projects and steady-state operations. This role combines Basis architecture, governance, and delivery management, with accountability for system stability, performance, security, and compliance, working closely with AMS partners and cross-functional IT teams.
The ideal candidate will drive end-to-end ownership of SAP Basis and Security operations, ensuring high availability, optimization, and alignment with enterprise digital transformation initiatives.

How You'll Create Possibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP Basis Architecture & Strategy

  • Define and own SAP landscape architecture (S/4HANA, ECC, BW, PI/PO, Solution Manager, BTP integrations, etc.)
  • Lead architecture decisions for cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP), hybrid, and on-prem environments
  • Design scalable, resilient, and high-availability solutions including DR strategy (HA/DR, backups, failover)
  • Drive automation strategy (system refresh, monitoring, patching, deployments)
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise cloud, security, and infrastructure standards

2. Project Delivery Leadership

  • Lead SAP Basis activities for implementations, upgrades, migrations (e.g., S/4HANA conversions), and rollouts
  • Define deployment strategies, cutover planning, and release management
  • Collaborate with functional, development, and infrastructure teams to ensure end-to-end delivery
  • Govern integration points (e.g., Salesforce, IoT platforms, middleware)
  • Ensure adherence to timelines, quality standards, and budgets

3. AMS & Operational Management

  • Oversee daily SAP operations including:
    • System monitoring
    • Performance tuning
    • Incident/problem management
    • Transport management
  • Manage and govern AMS partner teams
    • Define SLAs, KPIs, and service quality metrics
    • Conduct regular service reviews and performance evaluations
    • Ensure continuous improvement and cost optimization
  • Drive runbook standardization and automation

4. SAP Security & Compliance Oversight

  • Provide leadership for SAP security architecture and governance
  • Ensure compliance with SoD (Segregation of Duties), audit, and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee:
    • User access management
    • Role design and provisioning
    • Security audits and remediation
  • Collaborate with GRC / audit teams to implement control frameworks

5. Performance, Stability & Optimization

  • Own system availability, uptime, and performance SLAs
  • Lead capacity planning and performance tuning initiatives
  • Proactively identify risks and implement preventive measures
  • Drive adoption of monitoring tools (Solution Manager, Focused Run, third-party tools)

6. Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as primary point of contact for AMS vendors and SAP partners
  • Coordinate with:
    • Infrastructure / Cloud teams
    • Cybersecurity teams
    • Application owners
  • Provide executive-level reporting and dashboards
  • Manage contractual obligations and vendor deliverables

7. Governance & Best Practices

  • Define and enforce Basis and security standards, policies, and procedures
  • Drive ITIL-based service management practices
  • Ensure documentation, knowledge management, and process maturity

Lead continuous improvement initiatives and innovation programs

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 12–18+ years of SAP experience
    • in SAP Basis leadership/management roles
    • Experience in SAP architecture design across large enterprise landscapes
  • Proven experience managing AMS vendors and offshore teams
  • Strong exposure to S/4HANA programs (upgrade/migration/conversion)

Technical Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of:
    • SAP Basis administration (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, CPI or PI/PO, Fiori)
    • HANA DB administration
    • OS/DB (Linux, Windows, Oracle, HANA)
  • Experience in cloud platforms (Azure preferred given your environment)
  • Familiarity with:
    • SAP Solution Manager / Focused Run
    • SAP security & GRC
    • Transport and release management tools

Leadership & Functional Skills

  • Strong people and partner management skills
  • Excellent stakeholder communication, including senior leadership
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on problem solving
  • Experience in global delivery models

Key Success Metrics

  • System uptime and availability (SLA adherence)
  • Incident reduction and MTTR improvement
  • Successful project delivery (on-time, on-budget)
  • Security compliance and audit outcomes
