Senior SAP Basis & BTP Administrator
We are looking for an experienced, ownership-driven Senior SAP Basis & BTP Administrator who takes personal ownership of assigned responsibilities, sees tasks through to resolution, and actively contributes to the health, performance, and continuous improvement of our SAP S/4HANA landscape and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) environment, hosted on RISE with SAP
While this role covers SAP Basis administration and system management, the primary focus lies on SAP BTP administration, including subaccount management, platform operations, and BTP service enablement
Beyond technical execution, this role is expected to actively contribute to service quality, process improvement, and platform innovation The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise across both areas, operates with a service management mindset, is comfortable leveraging modern AI-powered tools to work more effectively, and collaborates closely with the CORE SAP S/4HANA Program and global IT Operations teams
Your Tasks and Responsibilities
1. CORE BTP Operations
- Administer and operate the SAP BTP environment as the primary responsibility of this role.
- Manage:
- subaccounts
- entitlements
- service provisioning
- identity and access management
- platform monitoring
2. CORE Basis Operations
- Manage and administer SAP S/4HANA Basis components, including:
- system monitoring
- performance tuning
- job scheduling
- output management
- troubleshooting
- Ensure alignment with RISE with SAP standards and services.
- Oversee system performance and availability by proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain a stable and reliable SAP environment.
3. Security & Compliance
- Ensure SAP system configurations and operations adhere to:
- internal security policies
- compliance requirements
- audit standards
- Maintain a secure and controlled SAP environment.
4. Lifecycle Management
- Plan and execute:
- system upgrades
- refreshes
- patches
- migration activities
- system copies
- Follow best practices and minimize downtime during all lifecycle activities.
5. Service Management
- Take ownership of SAP Basis and BTP-related incidents, service requests, and changes
- Actively investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in alignment with ITIL-based service management practices
- Ensure timely resolution and adherence to SLA commitments
- Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Drive root cause analysis and ensure permanent resolution through structured problem management.
6. Improvement & Innovation
- Proactively identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities across the SAP landscape and BTP platform.
- Propose and drive solutions rather than waiting for direction.
- Design and continuously improve system maintenance and management concepts for SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve automation solutions to:
- reduce manual effort
- increase reliability
- improve operational efficiency across Basis and BTP operations
- Implement and manage system archiving processes, including OpenText Archiving & Document Management, to optimize system performance and storage utilization.
7. Collaboration & Enablement
- Collaborate closely with the CORE SAP S/4HANA Program and IT Operations teams to ensure platform and system stability, performance, and operational excellence.
- Support effective cross-functional coordination across program, operations, and service partners.
- Contribute as a technical enabler and trusted expert across Basis and BTP topics.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Experience & Expertise
- Strong experience in SAP Basis administration and SAP BTP administration
- Proven hands-on experience in managing SAP S/4HANA landscapes hosted on RISE with SAP
- Solid understanding of:
- SAP system monitoring
- performance management
- upgrades and patches
- system copies and refreshes
- incident, change, and problem management
- Strong expertise in SAP BTP platform operations, including subaccounts, entitlements, security, provisioning, and monitoring.
Service & Operations Mindset
- Strong ownership mentality with the ability to independently drive issues to closure.
- Service-oriented mindset with focus on reliability, quality, and operational excellence.
- Ability to identify improvement areas proactively and turn them into practical solutions.
Automation & Innovation
- Experience designing and implementing automation in SAP operations.
- Comfortable using AI-powered tools to improve efficiency, analysis, and technical execution.
