Job Description

About the Position

Your work will focus on technical modernization, custom code adaptation, integration topics, system enhancements, and preparing the landscape for future innovations. This is a pragmatic, hands-on role: alongside transformation work, a meaningful part of the position involves daily support, maintenance, documentation, recurring administrative activities, and the reliable execution of routine technical tasks.

Your Responsibilities

  • Development, enhancement, and support of SAP solutions within SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments.
  • Analyze, adapt, and optimize custom developments during and after the ECC to S/4HANA transformation journey.
  • Design and implement sustainable technical solutions aligned with ZEISS architecture standards.
  • Support global rollout and transformation activities across ZEISS locations.
  • Ensure system integrity, compliance, and documentation throughout the application lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with business process experts, SAP consultants, and international development teams.
  • Contribute to modernization initiatives using current SAP technologies where they provide business value.
  • Mentor and support team members in technical topics and development best practices.
  • Member of our European Corporate IT SAP Team.

Must Have

  • Strong expertise in Classical ABAP and ABAP Objects.
  • Experience with Enhancements, BADIs, User Exits, Implicit/Explicit Enhancements, and SAP development frameworks.

  • Experience with CDS Views and modern ABAP development concepts.
  • Experience in support, service delivery, and incident resolution.

  • Experience with custom code remediation and S/4HANA readiness activities.
  • Knowledge of Clean Core and SAP extensibility concepts.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SAP BTP and CAP.
  • Experience with Adobe Forms (online and offline).
