JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for learning the hotel brand and strategy 
  • Drive customer loyaltyin order togrow share of the account by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience
  • Develop a working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including food and beverage, guest services, reservations
  • Develop a complete knowledge and ensure adherence to company sales policies and SOPs

  • Manage group or business travel accountsin assigned market segments to maximize business potential
  • Negotiate group business, guest room rates, meeting room rental, and hotel services within assigned markets that meets or exceeds hotel revenue goals
  • Negotiate contracts according to company standards
  • Responsible for obtainingappropriate approvalsfor contracts per SOP (airlines, major sporting events,etc..)
  • Manage and execute RFP Season Annually byfacilitatingthe process in conjunction with the GM and/or Sales Manager
  • Approves rates and space release in absence of DOS within established guidelines under the direction of GM, RDOS, RDRM
  • Ensure all pertinent aspects of solicitation, closing, and customer communications are complete and documentedmaintainexisting accounts with active trace/follow up system
  • Ensureaccurateand complete use of the sales system per SOP including recording all bookings and lost business
  • Identifiesandsolicitsnew accounts from telemarketing, appointments, site tours, cold calls, and inquiries via email, phone, and in person interactions
  • Develops,maintains, and prospects a Target List of accounts and communicates updates to DOS
  • Attends property specific receptions to generate leads and interact with customers
  • Organize and execute local area blitzes
  • Utilizes prospecting tools such asHotelligenceto full potential to uncover new potential markets, accounts, etc.
  • Reviews daily arrivals toidentifypotential new accounts and to recognize guests of existing accounts
  • Actively set seasonal promotions for targeted local accounts and Global Accounts
  • Partners with National Sales Representatives to maximize hotel revenue from Global Account
  • Presents to travel agencies that book or influence travel for accounts
  • Establishes relationships with local businesses and organizations and is an active member in local industry associations
  • Builds relationships with competitors in like roles to keep apprised of trends in the market and industry, and supply changes
  • Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertains qualified potential clientsin accordance withcompany and property policies and procedures
  • Provide prompt andaccurateresponses to all client requests for proposals and information
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales goals including predetermined revenue and sales activity
  • Completes daily/weekly/monthly reports as directed by the DOS/GM
  • Participate in Quarterly/Annual Business and Marketing Plans,assistwith budget process
  • Attendsappropriate tradeshows, organizes sales trips in local market and feeder cities as directed by the DOS
  • Communicates any product or service issues to DOS or GM
  • Work client-relatedspecial events
  • Abides byPrime TimeSelling hours
  • Participates in MOD program asrequired
  • Perform various other duties as assigned to meet business objectives

EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of High School education, post-high school education preferred
  • Minimum oftwo(2) yearsin hotelservice role or sales experience preferred
