Senior Sales Manager - New & Existing Business

This role is to lead our field-based New & Existing Business Sales function. We are looking for an exceptional and experienced sales leader with a strong background in tech/SaaS to inspire, develop and lead a high-performing team. The team is responsible for driving both new customer acquisition and growth within existing customer accounts through expansion, cross-sell and upsell opportunities. This critical leadership role plays a key part in the region’s success and forms an integral part of Mimecast’s go-to-market strategy and South Africa management team.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced sales leader who exhibits a high level of leadership, inspiring and developing their team while consistently delivering outstanding results. We care deeply about our customers and pride ourselves on delivering exceptional engagement. We are looking for a leader who can nurture the next generation of sales talent while managing experienced sales professionals to drive both new logo acquisition and revenue growth within existing customer accounts across South Africa.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead all sales activities across both new business acquisition and existing customer growth within the territory
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies that drive new logo acquisition, customer retention and account expansion
  • Provide leadership to the day-to-day operations of the sales department, while maintaining focus on the company’s strategic goals
  • Establish performance goals for all sales department employees, and monitors performance on a continual basis
  • Develop and/or maintains and improves business relations with all customers & partners of the Company
  • Responsible for driving revenue and use learning’s from that experience to refine sales processes and to build an appropriate team
  • Attract, retain, train, and motivate a diverse sales force
  • Achieve monthly / quarterly / annual business targets
  • Sign up to and execute against a set of end to end sales methodology and process Key Performance Indicator’s: Weekly end user activities, Forecasting accuracy, Pipeline stats, Account penetration and incremental growth

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of 5 years in sales leadership position in IT (ideally within cybersecurity, saas and email security).
  • Experience in management of Commercial as well as Public Sector clients
  • Demonstrable track record of successfully leading direct and indirect sales teams across both new business acquisition and existing account growth
  • Proven ability to build integrated sales and marketing plans
  • Ability to manage risks, priorities and expectations in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proven capability of developing talent from within the business
  • Ability to work with and gain input and resources from multiple teams and disciplines
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive customer acquisition and account growth
  • Strong communication skills (Written and Verbal)
  • Results-oriented with a positive outlook
  • A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance and that of their team members
  • Familiarity with tools and frameworks such as SFDC / GonG / and MEDDPICC would be advantageous.

The on-target earnings (OTE) range for this position is 1,760,000,00 - 2,640,000,00 ZAR Annual (OTE) plus benefits. This range represents the minimum and maximum new hire compensation for this role. The position may also be eligible for incentive plans and additional benefits, in accordance with company policy and local regulations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location with individual compensation also dependent on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills. Final offers will reflect these considerations and may vary accordingly.
