The Senior Sales Manager – South Asia is responsible for leading and driving sustainable business growth across the assigned territory. This role oversees strategic account development, regional expansion, and overall sales performance, ensuring delivery against revenue, margin, and profitability targets. As a senior commercial leader, the position plays a critical role in shaping go-to-market strategies, strengthening key customer relationships, and aligning cross-functional resources to accelerate market penetration and long-term business success in South Asia.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute regional sales strategy to achieve sustainable revenue, margin, and operating income growth
  • Identify and drive new business opportunities, market expansion, and portfolio optimization within South Asia
  • Develop and implement long-term growth plans aligned with global and regional business objectives
  • Own and deliver against annual sales budgets, forecasts, and KPIs
  • Monitor performance metrics, pipeline quality, and profitability to ensure consistent achievement of targets
  • Drive accurate sales forecasting and contribute to S&OP processes (production & inventory planning)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic accounts and senior stakeholders across customer organizations
  • Develop and execute high-impact account strategies to expand share of wallet and customer lifetime value
  • Lead complex negotiations and ensure successful deal closure and execution
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing regional sales team
  • Foster a performance-driven culture with strong accountability and customer focus
  • Mentor account managers and support capability building in technical sales and commercial excellence
  • Partner closely with Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, and Technical teams to deliver integrated customer solutions
  • Contribute to product development by translating customer needs and market insights into actionable inputs
  • Aligning regional initiatives with global strategies and best practices
  • Representing the company in key industry forums, conferences, and trade shows
  • Lead high-level customer engagements, including technical presentations and business reviews
  • Support customers in product trials, implementation, and application optimization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related scientific discipline, business, or a closely related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive sales experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or regional management role.
  • Proven track record in driving business growth, managing key accounts, and delivering financial results.
  • Strong understanding of the textile and/or paper industry, with the ability to deliver technical and commercial value propositions.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex sales cycles and large-scale customer projects
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and execution capability.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of personal drive, resilience, and results orientation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Solid understanding of the South and Southeast Asia business environment, market dynamics, and customer landscape is highly preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain an insurable driving record.

PHYSICAL EFFORT NEEDED: Must be able to physically travel, as they will be expected to drive or fly to meet with customers and may spend several hours in a car or plane. Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
