π The Job Mission
This is a hybrid role requiring proximity to Bridgwater or willingness to relocate, with relocation support available.
You will provide DSEAR expertise across a major nuclear construction project environment.
You will ensure compliance, reduce risk, and support safe operational delivery.
π₯ Act as DSEAR subject matter expert supporting contractors and project teams
π§ͺ Conduct, review, and approve DSEAR assessments across site activities
β οΈ Identify fire and explosion risks, implementing effective mitigation controls
π Maintain legal registers ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
π Provide technical guidance on DSEAR regulations and best practices
ποΈ Support development and implementation of DSEAR policies and procedures
π Review contractor assessments ensuring consistent compliance across the site
π€ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including safety and assurance functions
π Deliver KPIs, objectives, and performance reporting aligned to project goals
π¨ Support incident investigations and promote continuous safety improvements
Required Skills and Qualifications
π Degree in engineering, fire safety, or related discipline
π DSEAR certification such as CompEx or NEBOSH qualifications
π Experience within COMAH, manufacturing, labs, or fuel environments
π οΈ Experience auditing explosion-protected equipment and installations
π§ Strong knowledge of DSEAR regulations and ATEX directives
π₯ Understanding of explosion science and ignition control principles
π Ability to interpret technical engineering drawings confidently
π£οΈ Strong communication skills simplifying complex technical information
π₯ Knowledge of fire safety systems across complex construction environments
βοΈ Strong analytical skills with structured and pragmatic problem-solving
