About the Project:

Waterfront Brisbane is one of Australia's most significant city-shaping developments, delivering a world-class riverfront precinct in the heart of Brisbane CBD. John Holland is proudly delivering Stage One of the $2.5 billion project, comprising a 49-storey commercial tower, premium retail and hospitality offerings, public open spaces, and an enhanced riverwalk. The project presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a landmark development that will redefine Brisbane's waterfront for generations to come

About The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Safety Advisor to join our Brisbane CBD team and support the delivery of a major high-rise construction project Working within a high-performing project team, you will provide expert health and safety guidance, drive a strong safety culture, and ensure compliance with legislative, client and company requirements. This hands-on role will see you partnering with project leaders and subcontractors to manage risk, conduct inspections and audits, support investigations, and promote continuous improvement to achieve outstanding safety outcomes.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support and coordinate workplace Health & Safety programs and procedures.
  • Deliver compliance, induction and safety awareness programs.
  • Coordinate training for HSE Committee members and First Aid Officers.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
  • Implement HSE and fire prevention procedures in line with company policies.
  • Provide expert HSE advice and identify legal and contractual risks.
  • Maintain HSE records, reports and performance statistics.
  • Support incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance and drive continuous safety improvement.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies and procedures.

What we are looking for:

  • ­Diploma Safety in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
  • ­Cert IV in Environmental Management desirable
  • ­Construction HSE management experience would be highly regarded
  • ­Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects
  • ­Advanced skills in relevant computer software packages; use of basic functions of word processing, spread sheet and email software
  • ­Ability to conduct and interpret audits and reviews
  • ­Experience in an operational safety role in the construction industry
  • Strong ability to build constructive relationships with stakeholders across the project.
