About the position

Council’s Safer Communities Department is looking for a Senior Safer Communities Laws Officer who will be responsible for leading a key portfolio of the organisation - Council's Local Laws Team. The Community Laws Team proactively monitor and enforce Council's Community Local Law and other key legislation across the Frankston municipality.

The main responsibilities will include:

• Lead an effective team of Community Laws Officers and overseeing the day-to-day operations to ensure provision of compliance action by enforcing the relevant legislation, regulations, Local Laws and Domestic animal related matters and education of the community.
• Ensure Council's Statutory obligations are met in a professional timely matter.
• Conduct regular patrols throughout the municipality to ensure Community Safety and Amenity.
• Staff Management, Customer Service & Service Delivery prioritisation.
• Undertake the collection of lost/stray animals within Councils timelines and guidelines.

About you

• An effective leader, experienced in providing a positive leadership approach in providing education and a contemporary enforcement approach to achieve sustainable outcomes.
• Confident and experienced animal management/handling skills.
• Highly developed in investigation of complex matters and case management.
• Apply effective time management strategies to meet core service delivery requirements.

This position is a Band 6 currently remunerated at $100,338.66 per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
