In this role, you'll:

Join our Network Access Coordination team, where you will provide expert coordination and oversight of road network access activities, balancing operational requirements, project delivery needs and customer outcomes across a complex and evolving transport environment.

Your expertise will be relied upon to in the end to end Road Occupancy Licensing process to provide trusted advice on network access requirements and navigate complex operational considerations. By applying sound judgement and a risk-based approach, you will help ensure projects can proceed efficiently while minimising disruption across the road network.

Your ability to build strong partnerships and influence stakeholders will be essential as you work alongside project teams, utility providers, contractors and internal specialists. You will act as a key point of contact for network access matters, helping stakeholders understand requirements, identify solutions and achieve outcomes that support both project delivery and network performance.

Your insights and experience will also contribute to the ongoing evolution of network access practices. You will have the opportunity to identify improvements, contribute to process reform and support initiatives that enhance consistency, efficiency and service delivery across the road occupancy framework.

You will:

• Assess, coordinate and approve Road Occupancy Licence applications in accordance with regulatory, operational and safety requirements.

• Review applications with potential network and safety impacts, identifying risks and recommending appropriate mitigation measures.

• Provide specialist advice on traffic management, temporary road closures and network access requirements.

• Partner with project teams, contractors and utility providers to support the efficient delivery of maintenance and infrastructure programs.

• Balance competing stakeholder needs while protecting network performance and customer outcomes.

• Maintain accurate reporting records across network access systems.

• Build productive working relationships across Transport for NSW and with external stakeholders.

• Contribute to the development of improved processes, frameworks and guidelines that support network access coordination.

• Support compliance with relevant policies, standards and governance requirements.

• Share knowledge and collaborate with colleagues to improve capability, consistency and service quality.

This is a permanent, full-time position located at our Transport Management Centre (TMC) in Eveleigh. This role may also require you to work outside of standard business hours and undertake some travel.

About you

You bring demonstrated experience in road network access, traffic management, transport operations or a related operational environment where assessing risk, managing competing priorities and making informed decisions are part of daily practice. Your understanding of road occupancy licensing or network access principles allows you to confidently navigate complex scenarios and deliver balanced outcomes.

You are recognised for your ability to communicate clearly and build strong professional relationships. Your collaborative approach enables you to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, while your confidence in providing advice and guidance helps drive informed decision-making and positive project outcomes.

Your analytical mindset allows you to evaluate impacts, identify risks and develop practical solutions to operational challenges. You enjoy working in an environment where priorities can shift quickly and where well-considered decisions have a direct impact on customers, communities and project delivery.

Your commitment to continuous improvement, combined with your ability to think critically and work autonomously, will see you contribute beyond day-to-day coordination activities. You hold a current Australian driver's licence and have a willingness to occasionally work outside standard business hours to support operational requirements when needed.
